I am so used to clouds or smoke appearing any time there is a cool sky event to witness, so it was a thrill yesterday when the skies cleared in time for the partial lunar eclipse, with the potential to see the Northern lights during the peak of the eclipse. To the surprise of no one who knows her, the moment I mentioned it, my mom was down to go on an adventure to watch the sky on a dirt road out of town with me. We packed our chairs, blankets, and warm drinks and headed out to Kane Valley until we found a spot with a clear view. While we didn't see the Northern lights, we had a wonderful time watching the eclipse. So thankful to live where we can still escape light pollution, and I even saw a shooting star for the first time in many moons. π
