The Long-tailed Sylph is a striking hummingbird with extremely long tail. Male is mostly emerald green with blue-green throat and long forked tail. Female is much different, with shorter tail, spotted throat, buffy belly, and short white mustache stripe. Primarily found on the east slope of the Andes from Venezuela to Bolivia, in foothills and subtropical zones from 1,200–2,500 m. Occurs within cloud forest and at edges; visits feeders.

The White-necked Jacobin is a large, brightly colored hummingbird that grows 11 to 12 cm (4.3 to 4.7 inches) long . Males have a dark blue head and chest that form a hood, a white band on the back of the neck (nape), a bright green back, and a white belly and tail with black tips. Females vary a lot in appearance; most have green upperparts, a speckled blue-green throat and breast, a white belly, and a green tail with a blue end. Some females look like males. Bill is short, and thick at the base, and slightly curved at the tip.

The Buff-tailed Coronet is a medium-sized hummingbird, mostly dark green with obvious buffy underwing and mostly buffy tail. Fairly short, straight bill. Sexes similar. Found in cloud forest from Venezuela to Ecuador, mostly from 1,500–2,400 m. Usually forages in middle to upper levels of trees. Visits feeders, where it aggressively defends its territory against other hummingbirds.

The rainbow-bearded thornbill (Chalcostigma herrani) is a small hummingbird of the high Andes known for the male's glittering, multicolored throat patch. Male has a narrow, multicolored throat patch that can appear dark until it catches the light just right and explodes into glittering iridescence. This beard transitions from blue-green on the chin through golden to a fiery red tip.  Inhabits the high-altitude páramo, elfin forests, and scrub near the tree line, typically ranging from 2,700 to 4,100 meters above sea level.

The Crowned Woodnymph (Thalurania colombica) is a brilliant hummingbird species found in the humid tropical lowlands and foothills of Colombia. Male: Features a striking appearance with a long, deeply forked tail, a glittering violet/purple crown, and brilliant emerald-green and violet plumage. The black-billed mountain toucan (Andigena nigrirostris) lives in the humid highland and montane forests along the Andes mountains in Colombia.  Found at altitudes ranging from 1,500 to 3,200 meters above sea level.
