mddphotography takes a photojournalistic approach to its photos. Whether it would be weddings (and engagement shoots), portraiture (individual, groups, family or maternity) or other events (sports, travel, galas), the aim of the photograph is to bring the viewer into that place and time the photograph was shot and give insight into the subject matter. How about a post to warm everyone’s hearts through these cold days?

I had seen Leanna and Kishan through their engagement and then their wedding. And through the years thereafter, keeping in touch with them was so wonderful to see how their marriage blossomed into a beautiful family with very cute kids! Then, I was honoured to be asked to capture, not just any family session, but Leanna’s parents’ wedding anniversary ON the same date!

It was so great to reconnect at the session, even with the addition of Leanna’s sister and grandmother.

The day couldn’t have been more perfect weather-wise; only to illuminate all of their loving souls at a park that Leanna’s family had enjoyed for many years.

Thank you Leanna and Kishan for entrusting me to capture another special moment in your lives! 🙏🏼🥰

It’s still fall until Dec. 20 soo ... why not share a lovely autumn photosession with the Faharat Family!

What’s great about referrals is that when it comes from great clients, you know the next clients will be just as great. Thank you and for connecting me with Emily and JP! What’s even a coincidence / providential ... they both work at the same church my parents got married at!

We took these images on the beautiful grounds of Garrison Common. I hadn’t even known it existed! I’m so glad Emily and JP chose this location for their family session, as it was a perfect backdrop for their uber-cute 5-month old son. He truly stole the show with his cute smiles all because of his wonderful parents egging him on behind me. All in all, it was so fun to capture this family’s joyful smiles.

As advent begins this weekend, it’s timely that I share my wonderful experience capturing a special event. In years past, Michelle and I would use this as an excuse for a date-night where we would visit six homes which would be decorated with all the Christmas trimmings in every unique way. This is the Stouffville Christmas Home Tour .stouffville .

Each home was styled and decorated by a team of interior stylists, designers and florists to create an experience which one would marvel at while walking through each room. You could only imagine what a Christmas family get together would be like, as music would fill the air in the dining room to the family room to the kitchen to the den … heck, even the pool!

This year, I was graced with the opportunity to capture this event by the organizers – Debbie Powell and Lindsay Hawkins .hawkins.home – whom you’ve seen recently in a previous post for their team portraits. For all the participants, this was not just a walk-through experience. It was also a fundraiser for the Jennifer Ashley Children’s Charity who provides timely financial support to families caring for children in medical crisis, when they need it most.

Featuring another one of the Mother’s Day mini sessions!

A while back, I was graced with the opportunity of capturing Kim and Kevin’s engagement and wedding event! And it’s so great that we still kept in touch over the years.

Fast forward to this past Mother’s Day where they took advantage of this opportunity to be captured alongside their two uber-cute daughters!!!! They were so much fun to capture. And if I recalled correctly, Kevin was still the same jokey guy who put his energy in making his daughters laugh and smile for the camera. Such a wonderful reunion with Kim, Kevin and their lovely family.

Featuring one of the Mother’s Day mini sessions!

The Palmer Family has been such a great support over the years, that I’ve seen each of the kids grow and grow and grow! I was so surprised to see their eldest tower over me, when last time he was just looking up at me.

I am always honoured when Adele reaches out for some updated family pics. And I know that I will always get lovely smiles to capture ...as well as some classic fashiony expressions 😉

Gratitude.

Grateful for every day God has given me
… a chance to breathe
… another chance to live
… multiple chances to do His will.

When I had a previous health scare, I feared not knowing what would happen in subsequent days. It made me realize how precious each day was. Just waking up and knowing I got to see another day was a blessing I couldn’t take for granted.

So the Holy Spirit prompted me to create this simple prayer:

“Thank You God for another day
Show me Your plan show me Your way
Guide me in all that I do and say
Thank You God for another day”

🙏🏼

Now, the family says it every morning before we go on with the rest of our day.

Sharing it with you and praying that each day you know that we are grateful for your life!

There are anniversaries and then there are GOLDEN anniversaries. And when Tita Nila and Tito Gustav celebrated theirs, I was only enthralled to have been asked to gift them with a family session to commemorate this special occasion, from their niece and nephew (Marites and Neil).

The Soriano fam and I go wayyy back, as our parents were close family friends. So growing up with their sons, Glenn and Eugene, was like having another set of cousins to enjoy family parties with.

For this session, we set it up studio-style and it was lots of fun capturing various combinations of their growing legacy.

Reaching this milestone is very awe-inspiring and Tita Nila and Tito Gustavo will continue to be beacons for us. God bless them for another 50!
