I think it’s time I reintroduce myself.
Hi, I’m Saipoornima also known as Sasha for the folks who still can’t say my name right… even when they belong to the same community as me. 🙂
I’m from Mumbai, India, and I’ve been a photographer for over 10 years now. Food photography specifically? 8 years and counting.
And let me clarify something because titles matter.
I’m not a content creator.
I’m not a food stylist.
I’m not a creative director.
I’m a photographer.
Do I shoot videos? Absolutely. The world demands hybrid creatives now, so yes, I do video too.
Do I understand social media and strategy? Also yes I work full-time in social media and content strategy, while White Plate Stories is my passion project, my weekends, my heart.
Does that compromise the effort I put into your project? Never.
Maybe just slightly delayed replies sometimes 😅
So why this post?
A few days ago, someone scheduled a call with me for a shoot and never showed up. Life happens, I get it. But if you’re reading this and your hesitation came from me being Indian — sir, you’re missing out.
One person does not represent all of us.
And I refuse to let bias speak louder than talent, work ethic, professionalism, or kindness.
I take immense pride in my work, my client experience, and the stories I help brands tell.
I’m not here to steal anyone’s opportunities. There’s room for all of us to grow. But I do hope people choose skill, passion, and connection over assumptions. Because honestly? Your brand deserves better than that mindset.
Peace ✌🏽
