After 9 years away, I finally have a real camera in my hands again!

Say hello to 8 day old Griffin! At just over a week old, this beautiful little man just loved to be snuggled. He loved being held and adored having his head rubbed. I love getting to know each little one's personality and working at their pace. This little guy would occasionally need a bit of extra time to really settle in to a pose, and that was more than ok. With a little patience, he settled perfectly for some absolutely adorable images!

*ALERT* Serious mom bragging about to happen here...Tomorrow my very own little boy turns one and yesterday I got to photograph a very special session for his first birthday. This little boy melts my heart in ways I didn't know possible. From slow dancing in the kitchen as he rests his head on my shoulder, to squeals of excitement as he plays with his fur sister, to watching him learn new things and explore the world, and most of all, to experiencing the highs and even the lows of being a new mom, this past year is packed full of memories I never want to forget. This beautiful, s***ky, cuddly, happy, courageous, curious and fearless boy is the reason I do what I do. He is the source of my passion for this art. He is the reason I understand wholeheartedly how special baby photography really is. Thank you Rorick for the best year of mine and your daddy's life. You are loved my son!

At eight days old this little lady has s***k. She has a full head of the most precious hair, perfect little lips, and the cutest little hands and feet. She also had quite the sense of humour and would smile over and over, just as I pulled the camera away. She would occasionally open one eye to peek out at me as if to check on what props I had put her in now, and make sure I was posing her the "right way." One thing I love about newborn sessions is spending time getting to know what they like and don't like. Every baby is so unique, and I am just fascinated with learning how to best keep them settled and comfortable. To me, nothing I have experienced comes close to the feeling of photographing a newborn. The peaceful sleeping baby, the warm air, the rhythmic swaying and shushing of a precious tiny human, and the joy of creating beautiful and cherished art. I am so blessed to be trusted with capturing such a special time in my clients lives!

Say hello to to beautiful 8 day old Arya rocking the froggy pose in the super cute tutu her momma brought in for her. I can't say it enough, I seriously just love that I get to do this for a living. I can't get enough of these squishy little newborns :)
Also, for those of you wondering, this is a composite shot (two shots merged together). Little Arya was well supported the whole time!

Can I be completely honest with you for a minute?

I do what I do because my heart goes out to pregnant moms. Before my son was born, I had no idea what I was getting myself in to, or how much it would change me.

This change was the BEST thing that happened to me, but it was also really hard at times.

I want to forever capture and neatly package the beauty and joy of being a new mom. I want to create these beautiful images because I know that when you face the challenges of being a new mother, they will serve as a reminder of amazing privilege, and wonderful joy that comes from being a mom.

All this to say, I need your help! I want to serve you, and the pregnant moms of Moncton as best as I can. I've created a really short survey all about your experience with pregnancy, and I would be so honored to have your input.

We interrupt the normal stream of adorable newborn photos to share with you a freakin fantastic blog post! "But here’s the thing. Babies don’t always look perfect. They look funny.
