A couple of weeks ago, I had the privilege of photographing this couple from the Mohawk community of Kahnawà:ke.
It was such a perfect maternity session. The location, that perfectly pink sunset, the two of them, their love, and all their heritage!
I learned so much about their culture that day, and I was so moved by it that I wanted to share it properly. So I turned their session into a blog (Chloe and I actually wrote it together which made it 100 times more special), so more of us can learn the way I got to.
It’s also the beginning of a little personal project I’d like to call “CARRIED,” where I’ll photograph and interview women from different cultures about maternity, childbirth, and motherhood. Because for all the ways we look different, love is the thread running through every story ♥️
