Captured at the MIL Campus of the Université de Montréal in Outremont, this image explores the dialogue between nature and human design. Using the dramatic late-afternoon light breaking through shifting clouds, I emphasized the stark contrast between the building's two facades, revealing a monumental form reminiscent of the bow of a great ship cutting through the currents of the sky. The composition seeks to merge the power of the natural world with the precision of modern architecture in a timeless black-and-white interpretation.

Reflections - John G. Diefenbaker Building, Ottawa, Canada

The Rideau River runs adjacent to the John Diefenbaker Building in Canada's National Capital, Ottawa, Ontario.
Inspired by the serenity of the river on an overcast day in May 2022, I photographed the quiet and stillness of the reflection in the river. Rendering this image in monochrome speaks to the whispers that architecture with reflection can reveal.

Halifax, Nova Scotia

As a Service director (a flight attendant in charge of the cabin crew), I have the great privilege to travel all across Canada and the world. I was just walking on the street, downtown Halifax, by a beautiful sunny late afternoon. I had given myself a little photo challenge of focusing only on detail shots. This scene, through a restaurant window, really caught my eye. I loved the long shadows of the old classic salt and pepper shakers on the corner of the table. The bright foreground of the white table, against the shadow of the restaurant in the background was everything I needed to get a beautiful detail shot, giving a nice and calm vibe to the photo.
Shot with my Canon R8 mounted with a 70-200mm L IS USM f2.8 lens.
