October is Lewy Body Dementia Awareness month.
Lewy body dementia is a progressive brain disorder cause by abnormal protein clumps, called Lewy bodies.
There's a video on Youtube by Norton Healthcare that says this to describe LBD, "Think of LBD as an intersection of Alzheimer's-like cognitive decline and Parkinson's-like movement issues, packaged with vivid hallucinations and wild daily fluctuations."
Famous people you might know who have been diagnosed with Lewy body are Robin Williams, Ted Turner and Estelle Getty.

My Dad was diagnosed with LBD 6 months after my Mom's passing in 2021. From then on he lived nearby in Colorado. I watched the decline like riding a roller coaster. Sometimes it would be a steep decline and then level out for a few months. Then we would get a glimpse of "old Dad", sharp and clear and back down another decline.

For the rest of the month and the month of October, any sessions booked I will donate 15% of the session to Lewy Body Dementia Association (LBDA)

*The first 4 pictures were taken the fall he was diagnosed. That was the last time we had professional pictures done with him. The fifth picture was my Dad meeting our son in the hospital right after he was born in 2022. Dad passed November 2025.

Hi! I’m Hannah and I’m going to change the way you feel about getting family photos.

When you book a session with me, it’s not simply show up at blank location and blank time, I point my camera at you and then we part ways.

You get a whole experience with me!
I ask in-depth questions about your family to get to know you and what your family means to you before your session.
I help you coordinate your wardrobe for your session and then we have the session itself.

One of superpowers is my ADHD for so many reasons. For starters, you’ll enjoy me explaining a pose dramatically and looking ridiculous doing so, I’ll crack some bad jokes, and will talk the entire time. I’ll get side tracked by seeing a spot/lighting that sparks an idea that I cannot pass up. I don’t give you an opportunity to feel awkward or wonder what we are doing next, I’ve got all that covered for you. Your job during your session is to have fun!

My goal is to create art through your interactions together and to be able to do so in an organic way. So when your session is over, it never felt like work. That instead you enjoyed yourself with your family and left feeling like that was a really nice evening together.

The fun doesn’t end when your gallery is delivered. One of my favorite add-ons is turning images from your gallery into a personalized coloring book for your family!
Kids (and parents) love this! It’s a fun way for the whole family to connect after the session and color together!
