Fabula Films is a Montreal based wedding and event cinematography studio. The word “fabula” comes to us from Latin and is defined as fable or story. We believe that a film story must be emotionally compelling; it should acquaint us with the main characters in their natural state, without being scripted. In other words, we get out of the way and film you as events occur in real time. You won’t have

to stop what you’re doing (ever) to give us a different angle. In fact, except during the photoshoot session, you probably won’t even notice we are there at all.

We invite you to check out Chapitre 2 Productions' (Fabula Films sister company) collaboration with Les Productions Martinez.

Les Productions Martinez (Yordan & The Cuban Martinez Show) are a highly entertaining Cuban band located in Montreal. During the quarantine, Yordan had the idea of writing a song that they would perform each from their own home along with multiple dancers from the province dancing to the beat. The result "Rumba en casa"!

We're warning you, there's a good chance your hips will start moving on their own once the beat drops.

Une grande partie de notre travail est consacrée au montage des vidéos de mariage. Parfois, quand il faut élaborer une histoire ou créer quelque chose de différent, nous souffrons d’un genre de “syndrome de la page blanche”. En fait, nos idées créatives n’émanent pas toujours de nous… Bien souvent, nous cherchons de l’inspiration ailleurs. L'inspiration pour ce teaser nous est venue d’un autre cinéaste qui a eu l’idée brillante de mettre plusieurs images tirées d’une vidéo de mariage l’une à la suite de l’autre… nous avons adapté cette idée à notre propre contenu, et voilà: le teaser de Jennifer et Andrew.

A lot of our work goes into editing the wedding films. Sometimes, you get some sort of a writer’s block when it comes to putting your story together or when it comes to doing something different. I can’t say that these creative ideas are always straight out of our heads… a lot of times we look for inspiration elsewhere. The inspiration for this teaser was born from someone else’s creative idea of putting “stills” from their wedding film together… we just adapted it to our own content, and voila: Jennifer and Andrew’s teaser.

"Tu me fais c***r..." Je ne vous niaise pas, ce sont les vœux les plus originaux et les plus controversés que j'ai eu le plaisir d’entendre à l'occasion d'une cérémonie de mariage. Laissez-nous vous emmener dans une autre belle région de notre province, le Mont Tremblant, où, à l'occasion d'un mariage hors du commun ayant eu lieu à la résidence d'été du père du marié, nous avons pu profiter d'une vue spectaculaire du mont.

Helen et Peter nous ont offert non seulement un paysage magnifique, mais aussi des paroles inspirantes qui devraient nous guider tous dans la vie comme en amour.

Dans l'élaboration de ce film, nous nous sommes inspirés de notre collègue Alejandro Calore (cinéaste et propriétaire de Real N Short Films) que nous avons rencontré en formation professionnelle à Rotterdam, et qui nous a démontré que parfois, il vaut mieux laisser nos personnages parler.

Les mots que s'échangent Helen et Peter rappellent une citation de Percy Bysshe Shelley: “La poésie immortalise tout ce qu'il y a de meilleur et de plus beau dans le monde.”

Let us take you to another beautiful region of our province, Mont Tremblant, where on the occasion of an out of the ordinary wedding located at the groom’s father’s summer home, we were blessed with a spectacular view of the mountain.

Helen and Peter not only offered us a beautiful setting, but also inspiring words which should guide us all through life and love.
In putting together this film, we were inspired by one of our colleagues Alejandro Calore (filmmaker and owner of Real N Short Films) who we met on professional training in Rotterdam, in 2017, and who showed us that sometimes, you must let your characters speak.

The words exchanged by Helen and Peter remind us of a quote by Percy Bysshe Shelley: “Poetry lifts the veil from the hidden beauty of the world, and makes familiar objects be as if they were not familiar.”

Bonjour à tous, nous espérons que tous ceux qui nous lisent se portent bien et profitent de quelques moments zen.

Vous avez sûrement remarqué que nous avons pris une longue pause des médias sociaux. C’est principalement parce que notre temps était entièrement consacré au tournage et au montage de beaux mariages. Notre prochaine saison estivale de mariage semble avoir été reportée, et nous croyons donc que ce serait le bon moment pour vous montrer certains de nos films de mariage. Dans les prochains jours, nous partagerons avec vous quelques-uns de nos derniers courts métrages et bandes annonce. Si vous vous sentez un peu déprimés, laissez ces films de mariage vous transporter à une époque où le rassemblement social était à son apogée… dans l'espoir que cela vous motive à tenir bon encore un peu.

Hello everyone, we hope that all of you reading this are doing well and taking advantage of this time to enjoy a few moments of zen.

You must have noticed that we took a very long break from social media. It’s mainly because our time was fully committed to filming and editing beautiful weddings. Now that our upcoming summer wedding season looks like it might be postponed, we figured it would be a good time to share with you some of our previous work.
