Good morning, soul babes āļø
I saw a beautiful classic MJ Talks post yesterday asking a simple question:
Who is the best bo***ir photographer in MJ?
Itās such a broad question and honestly, I donāt think thereās just one answer.
Every artist in our community brings something completely different to the table:
Different studios
Different vibes
Different experiences
Different art
None of us shoot the same, create the same, or carry ourselves the same⦠and thatās actually my favourite part of this photography community.
Having options matters especially when youāre booking something as intimate as a bo***ir session.
Iām so incredibly grateful for all the tags and new follows from that post. Those little sparks of happiness Iāve been able to create for people? Iāll hold onto those forever.
Word of mouth will always be the most meaningful review
But if Iām being honestā¦
What I donāt love is the comparison.
The quiet competition of whoās ābetter.ā
Every photographer Iāve ever met starts with a love for creating art and somewhere along the way, it can turn into competition. But the divide that creates in both clients and community isnāt what this industry needs.
We are a community of like-minded artists.
We can work together.
We can grow together.
If youāre looking to book an intimate session (or any session, really), start with the art.
Look through their pages.
Their posts.
Their albums.
Watch their videos.
Listen to how they speak and show up.
Pay attention to the tones, lighting, energy, and feeling and choose what resonates with you.
Then reach out. Have the conversation. Book a consult. Get to know your artist and make sure you feel safe, confident, and excited in your decision.
Not every artist will be the right fit for you and thatās okay.
But the right one? They can be something really special.
At the end of the day, weāre all just humans living life and creating something we love. Thereās no need to pit us against one another.
Iāll never believe Iām āthe bestā
but I will always strive to be better.
I will always love what I do.
And I will always cherish every moment, memory, and connection made in my studio.
And truthfully? Iām not everyoneās cup of tea and I donāt want to be.
My art isnāt for everyone.
But for the people it is for⦠it speaks for itself.
I get to do what I love every single day and that, to me, is the best thing I could ever be doing š
Peace & Love for all of you, lifeās to short just be happy and book all the artists in your community š
