The red capped parrot at sunrise. These beauties are native and only found in the south west of Western Australia. The males are distinctly brighter in colour than their female counterparts parts, this being the telltale sign to distinguish the s*x. The biggest benefits these beauties have to offer is: Red-capped Parrots pollinate and disperse seeds of native plants and help to create a more connected ecosystem throughout the landscape.

Koalas were officially classed as endangered in February of 2022. While they’re no longer hunted, koalas now face an ever-growing number of threats - from deforestation for agricultural and urban developments to the spread of the deadly koala Chlamydia disease, traffic strikes and dog attacks. The future of this iconic animal depends on us taking urgent action to safeguard them and their forest homes.

In the wild, koalas serve as ambassadors for the many other animals that inhabit Australian nature. Protecting bushland areas in an effort to save koala populations also preserves the forest homes of other species like possums, greater gliders, wombats, quolls, birds, and reptiles. 🐨

A female and male galah mated pair enjoying the first splashes of the morning rays. Male and female Galahs mate for life. They will spend most of their time together in pairs, eating, cleaning and playing together. They are a very social and affectionate bird. Males and females look almost identical, their eyes being the only thing to identify their gender: females have pink or red eyes, males brown. They mostly feed on the ground, and retreat to the shade of tree branches during the hottest parts of the day.

The black swan, like other swans the black swan is largely monogamous pairing for life. The black swan is the regional symbol of Western Australia, where it is native, this beautiful bird is fully protected in all states and territories of Australia.

Interesting fact: a quarter of all swan pairing are homos*xual. They steal nests and form temporary relationships with females to obtain eggs, driving away the female once she lays the eggs. 👨🏻‍🤝‍👨🏼☮️🏳️‍🌈
