My love of nature started at very young age living out on a farm near Aubigny, MB. We had a little hobby farm, and we even had a Great Horned owl as a pet! I do think though the Disney Movies Bambi and Snow White also inspired me to be passionate towards animals. I love baseball and the Toronto Blue Jays. I’ve been an avid slo-pitch player for most of my life and with my recent injury in 2019 I ha
d to hang up my cleats for good!!! Back in February 2020 I lost my dog of 13 years, Covid Lockdown in March, we lost friends, family, jobs, businesses, and any sense of normalcy. Life was now becoming meek and heart-rendering. My depression and anxiety had escalated, and I needed to find something to keep my mind busy and find some happiness. My friend Judy told me I should take up photography as I was always “that friend” taking pictures at our gatherings, work events etc. with my little point and shoot camera. I went on Kijiji and bought my first DSLR camera from this guy Chris who is now a friend and who has helped me with some tips and tricks. I have since upgraded my camera and lenses I am completely self-taught through many hours on You Tube and asking a local friend photographer for tips as well, thank you Alison! So, I started birding which I NEVER thought in a million years I would become a “Bird Nerd”! I didn’t think I was that age yet! he he he. It continues to bring me peace during the hard times. I have many favourite birds, but my favourite are the Snowy Owls. My passion has been extended to family portraits, some weddings, landscape, and astrophotography, especially the northern lights! My images are not taught, I capture them with a feeling that’s deep inside of me that I want others to feel the true essence of the subject, and to give others inspiration behind my eyes. Nature and photography are my passion and combine those two…is where I am most at peace. I’d like to thank my friends and my mom who continue to push me to thrive and a Big Thank you to my husband for his support!
