I love the anticipation of what is going to hapoen in front of my camera... in the studio, in life, and on the stage... the challenge of capturing live performances is watching for the perfect moment of light, passion and movement to intersect.. it can't be posed and it flashes in front of the lens in a millisecond and then is gone forever. You have to anticipate it, plan for it, then be ready for it, while also bejng ready for the jnplannabke and unexpected ones too.. I love what I do!!

One of my favourite things to do is to join an event with a Portrait Experience Pop-up! Tonight I am at the Rainbow Salsa Social where Salsa lessons are going to be followed by a community dance. In between dances guests can come and have a portrait created! How fun is this!!!

Nanaimo Idol 2026

Photographing this event is such a joy. These local amateur vocalists from across Vancouver Island brought their A-game to the first round of this years competition. The top 5 move forward to the semi- finals on June 17th.

As part of my sponsorship I offer each of the top 10 finalists the opportunity to come into my studio to create both an artist headshot as some creative branding images they can use to promote themselves.

Come on out July 10th at the Queen's to watch round 2!
