Generic artwork can add something pretty to your house but portraits of your loved ones make a house your home. Portraits create connections and help you feel grounded when you walk into the room, they evoke memories and can tell your story.

Take this portrait of Vayla and John for example. They have built a wonderful life together and recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. They wanted a portrait that at a glance would show off their personalities and connection to each other. Not a stiffly posed picture gussied up in clothing they rarely wear. So we spent some time together in the studio, having a great time while we captured their connection.

The end result? A portrait they can display that immediate reminds of the life they have built together. And the pièce de résistance? They paired their anniversary print with their wedding photograph and voila! instant story.

Photographs matter; but imagery stored on a device is in constant danger of being forgotten during software updates. P**f! Gone.

Prints matter more.

As photographers we spend a lot of time behind the camera... but every once in a while it is good to get on the other side of the lens and remind ourselves what if feels like to be in front of the camera. absolutely brought the energy to this sportswear session!

With bold, classic sports lighting and crisp rim light, we created images that highlight both the performance and style of each piece.

Keeping the set clean and minimal let the apparel take centre stage, while every pose showcased the confidence, movement, and strength these designs are made for.

This session was all about capturing the outfit with a polished, editorial feel, and I can't wait to share the final images.

It’s incredible how much creativity can flourish with minimal equipment. For this shoot, we delved into a series of yoga poses with Kali Goldwing . Using a seamless grey paper backdrop that extended beneath the model, along with a side light and some projected light, we were able to craft a unique atmosphere and convey a strong message.

To get the desired effect, I needed to place the strobe carefully, ensuring it illuminated only the model without spilling onto the backdrop. I decreased the strobe’s power significantly and adjusted the aperture accordingly. I then employed a technique called "dragging" the shutter to bring out the colours in the background.

One of the key challenges was guiding the model to position her face and eyes perfectly within the light projection. It required some finesse to achieve just the right look.

Captured with a Nikon D850 and a 24-70mm lens at F8 with a shutter speed of 1/10, this setup allowed for some beautiful results.
