📍Pictou County + Antigonish County, NS Some of my fondest childhood memories were slow Saturdays at my grandparents' house, flipping through old photo albums -- learning about the people who came before me through images and the stories that lived inside them. I got my first camera when I was 9 years old, and from that point on, I was always capturing something -- little moments, people I love, places that felt like home. Life took me in other directions for a while, and aside from my iPhone, photography quietly sat in the background for about ten years. But coming back to it now feels like returning to a part of myself I never really lost. Photography, to me, isn't just about what something looks like -- it's about what it felt like to be there. The connection, the emotion, the moment that might otherwise pass unnoticed. That's what I hope to capture for others -- something real, something lasting, something you can feel every time you look back on it. So that the moments we live today can become the stories someone else holds onto tomorrow.

Introducing the latest photography duo, The Golden Girls.

and Janae Guthro of join us on site this year as The Golden Girls, a playful nod to Andre Pettipas’ Stay Gold motto and the golden hour magic that defines Giantstock’s shoreline.

Melinda and Janae focus on playful and candid snapshots that capture the essence of each person and the spirit of the weekend. Their combined style blends lifestyle photography, live event coverage, outdoor sessions, and natural storytelling that reflects the people and moments that make Giantstock special.

Their work across Nova Scotia includes family sessions, weddings, artist portraits, community events, and outdoor adventure shoots. For Giantstock IV, they’ll be moving throughout the grounds to document the weekend — from beach hangs and campsite downtime to late-night fires, wrestling chaos, and the long goodbye to summer that defines the festival experience.

🌅 One last golden hour nod to summer 2026.

The Golden Girls will also be offering 20-minute mini sessions for $75 throughout Giantstock for festival-goers who want to capture a little piece of the weekend for themselves. Come as a couple, bring your best friend, your festival crew, or just yourself and let Giantstock’s shoreline and end-of-summer glow do the rest.

Mini sessions are available by sign-up, with limited spots throughout the weekend.

You can find The Golden Girls on site all weekend at Giantstock.

Cheeky tunes & country roots 🤠🎶

Thursday night’s East Coast Country Song Circle at the Carleton, hosted by Sammy D, was a pretty great reminder that country doesn’t just live in Nashville.

Brooklyn Blackmore, Brandon Davis, Taylor Jensen & Cameron Nickerson brought the songs, stories, laughs and a whole lot of East Coast heart.

Country is alive and well on the East Coast. ❤️
