01/14/2023
As a whole, 2022 was not my favourite. In short, many of the things I love to do, didn’t get done.
I once read that life is full of ups and downs, and you should always walk on the right path.
But sometimes, it’s difficult to know if you’re on the right path - especially with so many ups and downs…
After hoping and praying for it the night before, yesterday, when the frost showed up, I knew I had to as well.
Frost is fleeting, time was of the essence. As soon as I could, I bundled up, grabbed my BG camera, and hurried out the door to the closest spot I could think of, in search of something, ANYTHING to photograph, preferably something beautiful or interesting, covered in frost.
There were definitely a few frosty subjects I turned my camera towards, but this might have been my favourite thing I focused on during my little solo adventure: Me.
Outside, with the weight of my camera around my neck, and my eyes in search of beauty, I felt like me again.
So, even if I didn’t capture anything truly phenomenal, like a big red barn surrounded by snow covered pines, something more important happened, I found me again.
Ironically, while I was out taking photos I didn’t stick to a physical path, but it was confirmed, I am on the right path - at least for now.
I have a ways to go to feel better, but like Barack Obama once said: “If you're walking down the right path and you're willing to keep walking, eventually you'll make progress.”
For me, 2023 is about progress.
Lots of love to all those who have had a difficult time, who might be struggling or maybe even feel a bit lost. I encourage you to keep going. 💙🤍
