Whenever I think about Hawaii, it isn't only the spectacular scenery I remember. It is the feeling of being there.

The warmth of the sun, the colour of the water, bare feet in the sand and that wonderful sense that for a few hours nothing else really matters.

That is what I wanted Beach Bliss to hold onto.

From above, all those individual moments become one colourful scene of people simply enjoying the beach. For me, it captures something we often travel a very long way to find, the permission to stop, enjoy the moment and just be.

There is a completely different rhythm to life when you are close to the ocean.

Watching the surfers at Waikiki, I became fascinated not only by the excitement of catching a wave, but by all the quiet moments in between floating, waiting and watching the water.

From above, those small figures seemed almost suspended in the blue, moving with the natural rhythm of the Pacific.

Surfers’ Serenade brings me back to that feeling of slowing down and letting the ocean decide what happens next.

Sometimes waiting for the wave is part of the beauty.

Sometimes the smallest figures tell the biggest story.

Swimmers drift through an expanse of the turquoise ocean water, which I only have seen at Hawaiian beaches. This intense colour and the feeling of enjoyment it carries, inspired me to create the Waikiki Beach Collection.

Waves of Calm is about that wonderful feeling of letting the warm ocean water carry you for a while. It brings back the memories of your last tropical beach vacation.

I can spend an endless amount of time watching waves reach the shore. No two ever arrive in quite the same way.

From above in Waikiki, I noticed how the white foam created delicate patterns along the sand, almost like lace being drawn across the shoreline and then disappearing seconds later.

That fleeting beauty inspired Seaside Lace Harmony.

It reminds me that some of the most beautiful moments at the ocean are also the simplest ones: warm sand beneath your feet, the sound of the waves and nowhere you particularly need to be.

One of my favourite things about Waikiki is watching surfers gather beyond the beach, sitting quietly on their boards and waiting for the next wave.

From above, I became fascinated by the little community they formed in the water. Everyone was there for their own ride, but at the same time they were sharing the ocean, the anticipation and the experience together.

That feeling became Surf Community Afloat.

For me, this image isn't only about surfing. It is about belonging somewhere for a moment, surrounded by warm water, sunshine and people who are there for exactly the same reason.

The colour of the ocean in Hawaii still fascinates me. At certain moments, the water becomes so luminous that it almost stops looking real.

When I photographed Fluid Harmony, I was less interested in recording a place than in capturing that incredible mixture of turquoise colour, sunlight and movement beneath me. From above, the ocean began to look almost like a painting.

This is one of the things I love most about aerial photography, a familiar place can suddenly become something completely unexpected.

Fluid Harmony brings a little of that Hawaiian light and colour back with me.

Some of the happiest moments at the beach are often the simplest. Floating in the water, feeling the warmth of the sun, and letting the rhythm of the ocean slow everything down.

Looking down from above, I was drawn to the sense of freedom and ease that filled the scene. Each person seemed completely immersed in the moment, connected by the shared experience of being near the water.

Seaside Harmony reminds me of those carefree days when the only decision you need to make is whether to stay on the beach or go back into the ocean.

Celebrating International Surfing Day

There's something timeless about watching a surfer meet an incoming wave.
It's a reminder that the ocean is never fully predictable. Every ride is a conversation between patience, skill, and nature itself.

Photographing surfers has always been about more than capturing action. I'm drawn to the way people connect with the ocean—the quiet anticipation, the moments of courage, and the joy that follows.

Wishing everyone who finds peace, adventure, and community in the sea a wonderful International Surfing Day. 🌊🏄

You don’t need the ocean to feel it.

Not every space is close to the coast, but that sense of calm can still be there.

That’s always been part of what I’m trying to do.

Taking something expansive and distant, and bringing it into a space in a quieter way.

Something that stays.
