I’ll be perfectly honest... I used to hate Valentine’s Day. Maybe it was due to to my 7th grade crush “dumping me” the day before the Valentines Dance and I just carried that bitterness with me for years. Maybe it was the roses I didn’t receive in the years to come, or even the efforts not made when I actually was in a relationship on this particular day.

But Valentine’s Day is for everyone. It’s for the happy couples, but it’s also for the first time parents who’s new baby brought them more love than they could ever know. It’s for the friends that’ve stuck with you through hard times. The parents that never gave up on you.

But most of all, it’s for you. On a day that’s all about celebrating love... please make sure to take the time to love yourself and how far you’ve come. Even if you’re already someone else’s Valentine, be your own Valentine too. 💞🌹
