I’ve never been very good at putting myself in one box.

And I’m really glad I never tried too hard to.

Every good thing I’ve built started as some version of:
“I don’t fully know what I’m doing yet… but I really want to try this.”

You’re allowed to have the idea before you have the plan.
You’re allowed to start something that doesn’t perfectly fit what you already do.
You’re allowed to change direction, add another layer, outgrow an old version of yourself and keep evolving as many times as you want.

I think that’s what makes life interesting.

And if there’s something sitting in the back of your brain that you keep thinking “maybe one day…” about this is your sign to just start making it real.

I may or may not be taking my own advice again very soon. 👀

Someone finding your business for the first time has absolutely no idea what’s happening behind the scenes.

They don’t know if you have 2 clients or 200.

They see your website. Your photos. Your messaging. Your social media. And within a few seconds, they’ve already formed an opinion about how established you are.

Which is why branding isn’t about pretending to be something you’re not.

It’s making sure the outside of your business has caught up with what you’ve already built on the inside.

I’ve never really loved the idea of taking a bunch of beautiful branding photos, sending a download link and saying “okay bye!” 😂

Because by the time I’ve planned your shoot, photographed your business and spent hours inside your brand…I usually have approximately 700 other ideas for it.

So yes, you get the photos. The favourites. The full gallery. The B-roll.

But I also love showing you how all of it could actually live on your website, throughout your content, in your marketing and sometimes in entirely new directions you hadn’t thought of yet.

You don’t have to do any of it.

But sometimes you need to actually see the potential before you can imagine yourself there.
And that might be my favourite part. 🍒

Okay, she was overdue 😂

Duranté Studios has changed a lot over the last few years and at some point I realized my own website wasn’t really telling that story anymore.

Photography is still a huge part of what I do, but the studio has grown into strategy, branding, websites, content, creative direction, branded merch + helping businesses figure out how all of those pieces should actually work together.

Basically... I became the exact client I’m always talking about.

The business had grown.
The brand needed to catch up.
So I finally took my own advice. 😂
The new Duranté Studios website is officially live. 🍒

If your business feels better in person than it looks online, there’s probably a disconnect.

You’ve grown. Your work has gotten better. Your clients have gotten better. You know exactly what you’re doing now.

But your website might still be introducing the version of your business from three years ago.

And people can only value what they can actually see.

A good website isn’t about making everything prettier. It’s about making the experience someone has online finally match the business you’ve built behind it.

Sometimes you don’t need to reinvent the business.

You just need the outside to catch up with the inside.

Turns out “working for yourself” is a very loose definition of freedom 🫠

No boss. No set hours. You can build things exactly how you want.

You’re also somehow the CEO, creative director, accountant, IT department, customer service, marketing team… and the person answering emails on a Sunday night.

It’s chaotic, occasionally questionable and definitely not the freedom I pictured when I started ✨

But would I do it all over again?

Every. Single. Time. 🤍

Your brand doesn’t have to live on a screen.

It can be the hat your team actually wants to wear. The tote your clients keep using. The notebook sitting in every meeting. The package that shows up at someone’s door and immediately feels like you.

I’ve been doing branded merch for clients for a while, but I’m officially expanding this side of Duranté Studios. From designing the pieces, to sourcing through my wholesale partners, to getting the finished products into your hands.

And no, I don’t want to slap your logo on 14 random promotional products 😂

The goal is to create things that feel like an actual extension of your brand, pieces people genuinely want to wear, use + keep.

Especially when you’re building a business around your expertise, your ideas or the way you work with people.

People want to know who they’re learning from, hiring, trusting or inviting into their business.

And that’s one of my favourite parts of personal branding sessions, figuring out how to capture enough of you that someone can start getting a feel for who you are before you’ve ever actually met.

One thing I’ve realized over the last little while...
A brand doesn’t stop at a logo, a website or a photoshoot.

Some of my favourite brands are the ones you get to hold in your hands.
The tote you grab every morning.
The notebook on your desk.
The hoodie you wear every weekend.

The welcome package a client opens for the first time.
So it just made sense to expand this part of Duranté Studios.

We’ve actually been creating custom branded merch behind the scenes for clients already, and now we’re opening it up to more businesses.

We take care of everything, from designing pieces that actually feel like your brand to sourcing quality products and managing production.

Basically... you tell us the vision, and we’ll make it happen.
And because I couldn’t resist...

I’ve also been quietly working on a few Duranté Studios pieces of our own. 👀

Nothing huge. Just thoughtful pieces I’d actually want to use myself.
