She wakes into a quiet that should feel peaceful but does not.
She is efficient in the morning. Coffee made. Tasks organised. The day set in
motion. She has had decades of practice going through the motions.
Her frustration is not with her circumstances. Her circumstances are fine, she
would tell you that. Her frustration is the gap between what she has and how it
feels to have it.
She has the life. She does not have the feeling of the life.
That gap is where my work begins. Not in the studio, in the specific moment she
reads this and feels something shift. When she thinks: how does she know.
I know because I built an entire practice around women who carry this quietly.
Women who perform fine so thoroughly that they have almost convinced
themselves.
The Becoming is for her. It has always been for her.

You are in every photograph your family has taken in the last twenty years and you are in almost none of them as yourself.

You are the hand at the edge of the frame. The woman mid-sentence. The one who made sure everyone else was positioned correctly before the shutter clicked and then stepped back because there was always something else to attend to. Another drink to refill. Another child to settle. Another thing that needed doing.

You have been doing this for so long it doesn't feel like anything anymore. It just feels like what you do but sometimes at 2am when the house is finally quiet and your thoughts are finally loud, you do the math. You think about what the record looks like. What your children will reach for when they want to feel you close. What your grandchildren will find when they search for the woman they came from and the math doesn't feel good.

I am a portrait artist in Hamilton, Ontario. I make fine art portraits for women who have been invisible inside their own lives for too long. Not the holiday snapshots. Not the photographs taken across dinner tables. Real portraits. Made with intention. Made to last.

If you are doing that math right now, I am here.

One day, her daughter will want to know who she was.
Not what she achieved.
Not how she looked.
Who she was.
Composed. Present. Unapologetically herself.
That is what a portrait is for.
The Motherline Project, coming soon.
For the women who shape their families

I want to tell you something about this work that I don't say often enough.

The women who come to me, the ones who end up with portraits that change how they see themselves almost all of them say the same thing at the reveal.

"I almost didn't come".

Almost didn't come because the timing wasn't right.
Almost didn't come because they'd been waiting to feel ready.
Almost didn't come because they thought there was a better version of themselves on the other side of some future threshold.

And then something shifted.

A birthday. A diagnosis. A quiet morning when they looked in the mirror and thought: I don't want to disappear from my own life.

The women I photograph are at thresholds. Not endings, thresholds. A moment that is both fully itself and the last of its kind.

A pregnancy that came after years of loss. A birthday that marks a decade of becoming. A mother who suddenly notices her children watching her.

I make portraits for those moments.
Not to freeze them. To honour them.

If you're at a threshold and you feel it that quiet pull toward wanting something real and permanent, I'm here.

My application is open. You don't have to know exactly what you want. You just have to know that this season matters.

The Maternity Portrait Experience.
Your body right now is doing the most powerful thing a human body can do.
The curves, the fullness, the strength it takes to carry life, all of it deserves to be captured in a way that matches its significance.

Not a phone selfie.
Not a quick photo shoot.
Museum-quality fine art designed to last over 100 years.

The ideal window is 28–36 weeks.

Some paths to motherhood carry chapters most people never see.

The years of trying.
The losses nobody talks about.
The treatments that tested everything you had.
The moment you almost let go of the dream.

The Rainbow Motherhood Portrait Project exists to honour that full story.

Not just the happy ending.

Every chapter.

If this speaks to you, the link in my bio is where you start.

I do offer consultation calls.
But if you’re expecting a quick chat to “see if this is a fit”… this isn’t that.

By the time we get on the phone,
you’ve already seen the experience.
You already understand the artwork.
You already know the level of investment.

You’re not guessing.
You’re not being convinced.
You’re not being sold to.

You’re deciding.

Because before any call, you go through a guided experience inside The Legacy House.

You receive:
– A personal welcome from me
– Behind-the-scenes access to real sessions
– Wardrobe and preparation direction
– A private space to share your story

So when we speak,
it’s not “what is this?”

It’s: “This is what I want. Let’s refine it.”

That’s the difference.

This isn’t for everyone.
It’s for the woman who values meaning, legacy, and being fully seen.

If that’s you, apply to begin.

There is always one woman who becomes the axis of a family.

The one everyone orbits.
The one who remembers birthdays.
The one who holds history in her hands.

She is rarely photographed.

Not because she isn’t important—
but because she has spent her life making herself smaller for everyone else.

Legacy portraiture exists for women like her.

Not to “capture a smile.”
But to preserve a presence.

This is not about a photograph.

It is about ensuring that when her grandchildren ask
“Who was she?”
there is an answer that speaks before anyone else does.

This is why I do this work.

She told me she hadn’t been photographed in 6 years.

Not because she was camera-shy. Not because she didn’t have time but because somewhere between becoming someone’s wife and someone’s mother, she stopped existing as just herself.

She was always the one taking the photos. Documenting the birthday parties, the first days of school, the family gatherings. She had 10,000 images on her phone and she wasn’t in any of them.

When I asked why she finally booked, she said something that broke me:

“I realized my daughter has no idea what I look like. Just me. Not holding her. Not mid-task. Not looking at someone else. Just… me.”

That’s the work.

Not making you smile for the camera. Not giving you “content” for Instagram but making sure you exist in the permanent record.

Because one day, someone you love will go looking for proof that you were here. That you were powerful. That you had a face before it became a reflection of everyone else’s needs.

And I refuse to let you be a ghost in your own legacy.

If you’re reading this and you can’t remember the last time you were photographed alone, not at a wedding, not holding a baby, just YOU, this is your sign.

→ DM me “SEEN” and let’s change that.
