Thereā€™s just something about the infant stage that makes my heart melt. The tiny fingers, the sleepy cuddles, the way they fit so perfectly in your arms ā€” itā€™s a season of pure sweetness that passes far too quickly.šŸ’•
But while this stage is one of my favorites, I truly believe that every stage deserves to be captured. From newborn snuggles to toddler giggles, childhood adventures, and teenage milestones ā€” each phase holds a beauty of its own.

Milestones mark progress and growth, no matter our age. Celebrating them isnā€™t just about having fun or taking photos; itā€™s a way of honoring moments that make up our lives.

From childhood birthdays to life achievements, each milestone offers an opportunity to create memories, mark growth, and recognize the beauty of lifeā€™s journey.

Recently, my middle daughter turned 9ā€”a perfect example of why milestones are so special. This year was unique because, for the first time, she picked out her own dress for her birthday. Seeing her eyes light up with excitement as she chose a style that felt true to herself was priceless. That moment represented more than just a birthday; it was a step toward her growing independence and self-expression.

So the kids are out of school today due to homecoming and I had the whole work week planned out so I could be free to spend time with the kids today. But on Wednesday, my youngest got sick. She was running a high fever and coughing non-stop. Turns out she had strep and has been down for the past 2 days.

This morning when I carried her to the bathroom to give her her meds, she said ā€œMommy, Iā€™m thankful Iā€™m sick.ā€ I laughed and said ā€œWhat, why are you thankful to be sick?ā€ Her response was hilarious. She said because I get all the attention. šŸ˜‚

When things pop up unexpectedly (which happens ALL the time), I find myself getting upset or frustrated because it ruins things I have planned. But Iā€™m trying to remind myself that everything happens for a reason. Yes, she caught strep and that could easily be the ā€œreason.ā€ But its also reminding me to slow down.

And thatā€™s what Iā€™m doing. Pivoting and putting my long list of things to do on hold for now, because my baby needs me. And attention is what she will get!

Can any mamaā€™s relate?

Hereā€™s your reminder to let go of the things you canā€™t control. Pivot when you need to. Just know that in the end, everything will be a-okay.
