A chilly -2°C start to the morning here at Hawarden War Memorial Park.

The caravan water pipes were frozen solid. Theo took one look outside, did his usual morning routine, then promptly headed straight back to my bed where the electric blanket was already warming things up.

Can't say I blame him. Some mornings are definitely made for staying tucked up under the covers.

South Island goat track, way out the back, tucked beside a lake.

After bouncing down what felt like a goat track to get here for an hour, I've found my home for the next week. No neighbours, no rush, just a lake, some epic scenery, and a chance to enjoy a bit of South Island magic.

Hi everyone, it's Theo. I thought I'd give Neo a quick vacuum. It wasn't easy, and I may have needed a few snack breaks, but I think I've done a pretty good job. Now it's time for a well-earned nap.

Woke up to this at Conway Flat Ocean Edge POP. An epic sunrise, crashing waves, and endless ocean views. Not a bad way to start the day.

The sun finally came out today, so I took the opportunity to get all my washing done while parked up at Donegal House Campervan Park. One of the great things about staying here is that each bay has its own water tap, making jobs like this nice and easy.

Tomorrow is a travel day as Theo and I head to Conway Flat Ocean Edge POP, with beachfront views. Theo is going to love his walks along the beach.

After lots of rain and cloudy skies, I decided to drop into Donegal House Campsite and plug into power for a couple of nights before continuing on to the coastline for some beachside freedom camping.
