Photography by Carolyn Anderson Photo's, wildlife, nature & landscape! I have been asked if I sell my photo's & want to let you know......Yes I do! Also feel free to share my photo's!

We are surrounded by so many beautiful things each & everyday, we just need to slow down and look around and you will be surprised at how much you see. I love photography, wildlife & nature! I enjoy spending time outdoors and love to photograph nature at its best in the wild. I do not share photo's of any captive animals or birds. I am not a huge fan of zoo's. Animals belong in the wild. If I were

to visit a rescue or rehabilitation center I would state where the photo was taken. I have just recently been asked if I will sell my photo's and have decided that....Yes I will. If you see anything that your interested in just send me a message. I sell prints, cards for all occasions & calender's (where you can pick the 12 photo's you would like) Calender's are printed on high quality paper and the photo's can be cut out and framed. I will keep my prices as low as possible as I feel honored that people are interested in my work. If there is something you would be interested in please do not hesitate to ask. I do not have my own website to sell photo's but it is something I am considering. I will see how things work out here first. Then I will decide if I should get my own website to sell my photo's based on how things go here

Hello again everyone, I am so sorry I have been gone so long. I am slowly getting back to taking photo's. I hope to start posting a couple times a week.
I have a couple of shots to share with you all today, These photos of a Red fox were pure luck, I spotted her jumped out of the car with the hope of getting one shot. This fox turned around and walked right back up to me. As she stood only a few feet away I wad able to grab a few shots of her with her kill (vole). I have been looking for a fox for over ten years. Enjoy!

Trying to take a photo of snow as it falls is not as easy as you would think it would be. This was I think my best shot showing a single snowflake as it touches down.

I have not been able to get out this past week so I decided to go back through some older photos, I came across these shots of a Glossy Ibis (a bird that is not usually found anywhere near where I live but 1 visited in 2015), I was lucky enough to get out on two different days to get photos the one day was sunny the other day it was cloudy. This has to be the hardest bird I have ever tried to photograph. Too cloudy and he comes off very dark, his true colours don't come through, to much sun and his shiny feathers reflect the light on you. A hard bird to get a good shot of.

The Eastern Chipmunk is found in eastern North America. It is the only living member of the chipmunk subgenus Tamias.
The name "chipmunk" originated from the Ojibwe word ajidamoo, which translates to "one who descends trees headlong."

The Northern Shoveler has to be one of what I find the most interesting ducks. They are hard to get a good shot of, or one that shows off just how big that Bill is, (about 2.5 inches long).
Interesting Facts ~ Its named after their shovel-shaped bill that easily sets it apart from other dabbling ducks. It tends to sit in the water with its rear a bit higher almost as if its bill is pulling its front down.
They are monogamous and remain together much longer than most other pairs of dabbling ducks. They form a close bond on their wintering grounds and will stay together until just before fall migration. The first 2 shots are of the Female the 2nd two are the Male.
As always enjoy and feel free to share! 💕

I figured after I posted the molting male Northern Cardinal it seemed only fair to post a few shots of the beautiful female Northern Cardinal.
Interesting Facts ~ Unlike most North American songbirds Both the male and female sing, The female Northern Cardinal will often sing, while sitting on their nest. This maybe to give the mated male information about when to bring food to the nest. A mated pair shares song phrases, but the female may sing a longer & slightly more complex song than the male.

It is a Winged favorite as it is the State bird in 7 states
Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, North Carolina, Ohio, Virginia and West Virginia.
As always Enjoy and Please feel free to share! 💕

Here is something you don't see everyday! A molting male Cardinal.
Interesting Fact ~ In summer, after the nesting season, when these "black-headed" Cardinals molt their feather & new ones grow in. The molting process occasionally leaves the cardinal with a bald black head when they loose their feathers all at the same time. I have also included a Male Cardinal in all his glory with his crown! AS ALWAYS ENJOY AND PLEASE FEEL FREE TO SHARE!💕

The Red Bellied Woodpecker, not sure how it got that name when it's belly is mostly white.
Interesting Fact ~ A Red-bellied Woodpecker can stick its tongue out almost 2 inches past the end of its beak. The tip of it tongue is barbed, the bird’s spit is sticky, this makes it easier for them to grab some of their favorite food from deep crevices int the tree bark..
The Red Bellied Woodpecker mainly eats insects & spiders but it eats plenty of plant material, too. Acorns, nuts, and pine cones, as well as seeds and (particularly in fall and winter) fruits ranging from grapes & hackberries to oranges and mangoes. Occasionally they will even eat lizards, nestling birds, even minnows.
I hope you enjoy the photos. As always feel free to share!
