Cheetah, the spotted, slender feline, known for its short burst of speed. These beauties lack the strength or agility of bigger cats like the Lion or Leopard, but try to make up for it with speed. The only disadvantage - they can only persist that speed for a short burst, often burning out all their stored muscle glycogen reserves. These beautiful cats are disappearing from the face of the earth faster than other cats, owing to habitat loss, low cub survival rates and poor gene-pool from inbreeding. This beauty in Etosha was out hunting, popping up and scanning the area every now and then. What a lovely sight!
This is also a celebration of the reintroduction of Cheetahs in India where they were hunted to extinction by 1950s. Praying that they flourish in their new home and repopulate the territory where their cousins once walked

Etosha National Park in Namibia is such a great place for animal sightings. The white pans that extend all over the park provide such unhindered and clear sighting, like this one here. We saw a pride of lions about 250m from our car and their prey another 300m away from them. We were observing this hunter-prey coexistence for more than 3 hours. Everytime the lioness got up or started stalking the springbok, the Springbok would all turn towards her like they were telling her they know she is around. Such is the beauty of watching animals in their true habitats, even more when you are self-driving, and can choose to stop as long as you want at any sighting of your choice. never disappointed me, but I must say, my last safari before I moved to , Africa showed me the best she's got, and I remember dramatically and emotionally promising to her that I will keep coming back all my life
