October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We ALL have close friends and family that have stood up to face that battle and I wanted to find a way to support.

A few years ago, I was asked by a friend to do a very special shoot with her. She was to go in the following Monday for a partial mastectomy and wanted to do a bo***ir session before. I was honoured. I was also terrified to do it right, to make her feel amazing. We laughed for the entire shoot. We teased about wearing the stilettos she brought with her into surgery with a bright red lip. It was only AFTER she left - with a big smile on her face, that I broke down. I sent her a few teaser shots the next day, to give her a little extra boost. Her husband messaged me the day after her surgery to tell me just how much the session was and how I helped change the way she carried herself.
That shoot was by far, the most inspiring and meaningful shoot I have ever done. She talked about doing another shoot post surgery when she was ready - I call them WARRIOR shoots.

Bo***ir isn’t about getting naked at all. It is about empowering women. It’s about discovery. It’s about seeing yourself differently. It is about being vulnerable. It’s about laughter and lightness.
I ensure that a trust is built and we explore together.

When you hear the words bo***ir photography, the first things that come to mind are probably lace, lingerie and women…and when you hear the words ‘dudoir photography’, you probably think what? And then think of the images that have gone around of dad-bods spoofing some of the poses that women do in their shoots. There is ABSOLUTELY a place for photography where men get to feel just as empowered, sensual and vulnerable. Last weekend I was privileged enough to play with my camera and my wonderful friend for a shoot that was as fun to do as it was to edit. and is for EVERY BODY. I vow to ensure that you will have an amazing time. Enjoy just a few of the MANY photos that I am proud of. These pics are posted with permission.

A little over a year ago, a friend of mine approached me 4 days before going in for a mastectomy to do a special bo***ir photoshoot. It changed my life, and inspired me more than I can possibly explain. She powered into that surgery with a renewed energy and became a Warrior.

So we're calling all GODDESSES (of all ages, sizes and comfort levels:

Resonate After Dark will be hosting 2 bo***ir photoshoot events in October with a portion of the proceeds going to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. Reserve your time slot on Saturday October 14th or Saturday October 29th. Bring a friend or make new ones here. There will be mimosas, make up, and memories to last a lifetime. Whether you are doing it as a gift for yourself or a special someone, we will ALL win.

**If you cannot make it on either date, but still want to be a part of this, maybe you want to host a bo***ir party of your own. As long as you reserve your future date during the month of October, we will still donate. Groups of 5-6 work best.

This journey started in June 2017 with an idea to make Ottawa more inclusive. With incredible feedback and community support, we are so excited to launch the final product today - Ottawa's first online directory of LGBTQ+ friendly businesses.

I'd like the thank the volunteers that have selflessly donated time and resources to help make this day a reality. We are truly grateful.

Just like last time, we're just getting started.

We need the support of the community to spread the word so that this resource can reach the citizens of our great city. We have more businesses to add and more people to reach. Let's help our neighbors feel safe, welcomed, and loved in Ottawa. Today, we take a step forward.

The anniversary of Resonate Photography's launch was just last week! In the 7 (SEVEN!) years since going live, I have grown as a photographer and learned about what I wanted my brand to be.
