Photo of the Day: Ascending to Cortona

We spent an absolutely unforgettable week in the hilltop town of Cortona (made famous in the movie "Under the Tuscan Sun") in a wonderful property that had undergone a similar transformation by the couple who owned it and spent two years renovating the apartment. This is a panoramic shot taken from the side of the road as we ascended up to the town capturing the beauty of the Tuscan landscape.

Photo of the Day: Reflections on life

We spent an absolutely unforgettable day/evening in the Sahara Desert being treated like royalty by our berber guides and hosts in a wonderful luxury tented camp. This is a photograph of one of our berber hosts contemplating life as he stares out into the abyss.

Photo of the Day: Golden Hour on the canals

No matter how many times I've had the privilege of being in Venice (one of my fav cities on the planet) it never gets boring. And the best time to take advantage of it is during the golden hour (pre sunrise or post sunset). This was a shot I took late in the evening just before we headed out for a great meal at a local dining venue with the sun just starting to set over the horizon.

A photo that I shot while walking from Firostefani to Imerovigli in Santorini, Greece. The views surrounding the caldera are spectacular no matter where you happen to be, and it is hard to image the beauty by just looking at a snapshot.

Photo of the Day: Acropolis at Sunset

This was the view we had from our hotel in Athens (Hera Hotel) and it was actually taken from their rooftop restaurant (The Peacock) which we dined at twice. Still a great memory and an absolutely fantastic view of a 2,500 year old architectural wonder of the world.

Photo of the Day: Cobblestone streets in Arles

An iconic old-world UNESCO World Heritage site that dates back almost 3,000 years to 800 BC when the Ligurians first settled in this area. Arles is widely known for its most famous resident (at the end of his life) Vincent Van Gogh who lived here in 1888 and 1889 and is known to have produced over 300 paintings during his time here.

I captured this photo of a number of locals "in the office" located in the Unesco World Heritage site of La Medina De Tunis. We wandered throughout the souk for several hours just mesmerized by the atmosphere and the culture.
