It’s engagement session season!! My fav 🫶
I love engagement sessions because I get to just go on a nice walk with a wonderful couple chasing the light, very low stress environment, and get some amazing photos for you!! ☀️
Here are some tips for my
‘no stress engagement session’
1.) Choose a location that makes sense for you both
Sounds obvious, but it’s important. If you’re more on the shy side or don’t like crowds, choose a location that will factor that in. I have tons of locations in my back pocket and I’ll always ask my couples if they need some help picking one.
On the topic of location if you have one in mind, I absolutely love that! A first date spot, where you walk your dog every night, or even your wedding venue.. all of these locations are really sentimental and are going to be really meaningful and make your photos so special.
2.) Make sure whatever you choose to wear is comfortable and you’re able to dance, twirl, sit and stand comfortably in it. If you’re planning on bringing two outfits, one more casual and another a little dressed up just let me know so we can plan logistics beforehand.
3.) Be present. The best way to get natural documentary style photographs is to actually be in the moment. Get really close with your partner and actually try and pretend I’m not there. It’s hard but that’s what an engagement session is for, to practice for your wedding day.
4.) Trust me. I know it’s probably your first engagement session but I’ve done this countless times, so please trust. I have your best interest at heart and I want you both to look amazing and really love these photos. I’ll have lots of prompts and poses for you to do throughout the shoot so you don’t have to worry about any of that.
I have a bunch more tips, but that’s all for now. I hope that’s helpful for some of my couples with engagement shoots coming up soon!!
