From baby carhartts to little cowboy dreams. 🤎

I photographed sweet Jack Ross for his 1st birthday… and now here we are celebrating TWO. Watching families grow in front of my camera will never stop feeling special. The tiny details change so much in a year — the expressions, the little personality shining through — childhood doesn’t slow down for us. 🥺

So grateful to the families who trust me to tell their story year after year.

Some words of wisdom when working with a documentary-style photographer… 🤍

Minimal direction does not mean aimless moments. It means making space for the real ones.

I know it’s so tempting to fall back on “look at the camera and smile!” — it’s what we’ve all been taught photos should be. But during our time together, I gently ask you to let that go. Please don’t put that pressure on your kids.

I don’t need them looking at my camera.
I want them looking at you.
Laughing with you. Snuggling into you. Reaching for your hand. Getting lost in your eyes.

You’ll have thousands of chances to ask them to smile at your iPhone. But how often do you get the chance to simply be present with them while someone preserves how this season of your life actually feels?

Love on them. Be playful. Be soft. Be silly. Hold them even if they wiggle away.

Embrace this time.
Lean into the connection.
Make the most of the memories you’re investing in — not just the photos, but the moments that make the photos.

Spring always has me reminiscing about slow mornings, cozy cuddles, and the kind of moments that feel ordinary now but will mean everything later.

There’s something so special about being invited into your homes to witness these seasons of life. The family favourite hobby or activity, the giggles, the snack breaks, the chaos, the quiet cuddles… it’s real life and it’s beautiful. I just get to quietly step into your morning and document it as it unfolds.

These are the moments that don’t feel big right now… but one day they’ll mean everything.
