Oh how I love in-home family sessions. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll never say no to a golden hour sunset — but there’s just something about being in your own space that makes these sessions feel extra meaningful.

Your home holds your story. It’s where your kids are growing up, where the everyday moments unfold — the ones you don’t always think to remember, but end up meaning the most. The way your living room looks right now, the tiny details in your kitchen, the art on the fridge, the cozy corners where everyone gathers.

In-home sessions are such a beautiful way to document your family’s history as it is, in this exact season. In 10 or 20 years, these photos become more than just images — they bring you back. To the house your babies grew up in, to their bedrooms filled with their favorite toys and little treasures, to the stage of life that once felt so ordinary but was actually everything.

There’s something so special about being invited back to document a growing family.

This is the second time I’ve had the honour of photographing this beautiful family, and it truly means the world to me that they trust me to capture each of their babies as their story unfolds.

I started photographing this beautiful family when that sweet little boy was still in his Mom’s tummy and it’s been so special to be able to document their family growing. I’ll never take for granted that families choose me again and again to document such important milestones in their lives and I am always deeply honoured when they do. This will be forever my favourite part of my job, documenting families as they grow. Thank you from the bottom of my hear ! These Mother’s Day Mini Sessions are so special because they’re about you being in the frame — the cuddles, the giggles, the way your little ones look at you. These aren’t just photos… they’re memories your kids will treasure forever.

Join me on April 18th from 9:00am–12:00pm for a beautiful, simple, joy-filled session created just for moms and their kiddos(dad’s can join for a couple). Sessions will be held at R Studio, located at 75D Colonnade rd.

It’s rare that I get a request for a winter family photoshoot so I was so excited when this booking came through. I have been photographing this family since their youngest was a newborn and they have become so special to me! I know I have said it before but it really is the best part of my job, becoming friends with my clients and watching them grow! Mother Nature pulled through for us this day and gave us a mild day, with light snow and a little sun…a perfect winter day for this sweet family 💕

I have had the honour and privilege of photographing this beautiful family 5 times now and every session has just been so special. To be a part of watching and documenting a family grow is something I will never take for granted. When I arrived at their new home for this session, their walls had several of the photos I have taken over the years and that is always so incredible to see. We actually did this photoshoot a little later than usual due to sickness and the holidays but not only was I able to get the majority of photos I would normally get, I was also able to get those first baby smiles which is just the best!!

This newborn session, just days before Christmas, felt extra special ✨
So much tenderness, so much love — watching two parents completely smitten with their brand new baby never gets old. The quiet moments, the way they look at each other, the way everything slows down… pure magic 🤍

On a personal note, we just got back from NYC with our family, and it has me contemplating something new here. I spend so much time researching our trips, and I’ve noticed how hard it is to find travel tips that actually include families of five. I’m thinking about adding highlights from our family travels — places we stayed, what worked (and what didn’t), and practical tips to make trips with kids feel a little easier and more fun.

I haven’t posted a newborn session in a while and figured today was the perfect day to share this adorable baby boy! We actually did this session when he was a little over 3 weeks because he got a bad case of baby acne. As you can see though, we were still able to capture everything I usually do in a much younger newborn. I always like to stress this with parents that I care more about how the parents are doing and feeling postpartum than the age of the baby. I want this to be a memorable and enjoyable experience for everyone and that often can’t be achieved if the Mom is still recovering from birth. The beauty of a lifestyle session is there is no need for the baby to be under two weeks because I’m not doing elaborate posing that would require an extra sleepy babe! This baby was such a champ and the absolute cutest little guy…look at all that hair!! 😍😍

This session may or may not have started with me getting locked into the bathroom at the ornamental gardens(photographers beware🤪). Thankfully, these wonderful clients were able to get me out and we were able to have such a beautiful session to document the last few weeks as a family of three. I had the honour of photographing this family starting when she was pregnant with this beautiful little boy and to document them growing has been just wonderful.

Moments like these remind me how special it is to watch families grow and to be trusted to document such meaningful chapters in their story. Capturing their journey from one baby to two is something I’ll never take for granted. • •
