As part of the People of Parry Sound Project, we’re collecting short stories and reflections about John Tuck and the impact he’s had on our community.

John has served the Town of Parry Sound for decades as a Fire Prevention Officer and Captain, working behind the scenes to educate residents, promote safety, and help protect our community. Many people know him through fire prevention visits, community outreach, emergency response, or simply as a steady presence in local public safety.

If you’ve worked with John, know him personally, or have even shared a brief moment with him, your perspective matters. The survey is short, and responses can be big or small. Every story helps paint a fuller picture.

You don’t need to know John well to participate. A memory, an observation, or a single experience is enough.

LeeAnne, Board Member of Hospice Muskoka since 2025.

LeeAnne holds a Bachelor of Commerce Marketing degree from the University of Guelph. Her career began in corporate marketing in 1997 and has over 15 years of learned experiences with well respected Canadian organizations. (Beaver Lumber Company, Canadian Tire Corporation, Tim Hortons and Disney Canada)

In 2012 she joined the family business and earned her way to a 50% partner ownership of the Home Building Centre Gravenhurst.

LeeAnne started volunteering at Hospice Muskoka in 2022 in the kitchen, stirring up soups and baking treats for residents & family members. She has also participated as a peer leader in the family grief and Bereavement Program.

She has first-hand experience with caring and compassionate care. Her late husband and father of two young boys, Mark, died in 2009.

LeeAnne now has a blended family of 3 boys, with her husband Darren. They enjoy golfing, skiing, travelling, and sharing good food with good friends.
