𝐅𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐩𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐬 𝐝𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐚 ❤️

We started this session with some beautiful portraits at the park, but then came the ice cream… and things got a little more chaotic. 😂

My favourite photo might be the first one — my grandma and the baby, both covered in ice cream after he decided her cone looked much more interesting than his own.

And honestly? 𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐬 𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐟𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞.

The beautiful portraits are wonderful, but it’s the messy, silly, completely unplanned moments that you’ll look back on years from now and remember exactly what that day felt like.

When the photographer says, “I just need a little wind…” 😂🍃

Dad: say less.
Also Dad: fires up the leaf blower 💨😂

Sometimes the magic behind the photo looks a LOT less magical in real life. But when you’ve got a dad willing to stand there with a leaf blower to help create the shot… you know we’re committed to the vision. 🤣

And honestly? Worth it. ✨

Since she was 3 years old, I’ve had this girl in front of my lens. 🤍

She and her brother were actually the reason I picked up a camera in the first place, so it will always be extra special when they’re willing to let me take their photos. 😂

Now that she’s older, she has officially started coming up with her own themes for her yearly birthday photos, which I honestly love. She has ideas, opinions and a vision… and apparently I’m just the photographer who has to make it happen. 😅

These aren’t those photos though. These were just for fun because she happened to be willing to stand in front of my camera for a few minutes. 🥹

Her birthday photos will come later… after I purchase the costumes required for her very specific vision. 🥴😂

I’ll take every opportunity I can get to photograph this girl while she’s still willing to let her mom do it. 🤍

A little BTS of a newborn shoot.

My newborn sessions are a blend of gently posed portraits and candid moments.

You’ll still get those timeless, beautifully posed images, but I also leave room for the in-between moments that make this stage so unforgettable. Instead of relying on lots of props, buckets, or intricate wrapping, I focus on what matters most—you and your baby.

Some of my favorite images happen while your little one is stretching out on a soft blanket, settling into your embrace, or simply being held close. Those tiny movements and natural expressions tell the story of who they were in those first precious days.

Because years from now, I want you to remember not just what your baby looked like, but what it felt like to hold them.

Wrapping up our last week in Ontario I had the privilege of capturing baby Karter.

We did this shoot the day the Ontario wildfire smoke rolled in. It was also the day that a wild fire sparked close to home.

I’m so thankful for the firefighters who work tirelessly to protect our communities and homes. Thank you firefighters!!🧯

These photos mean a little more to me.

I get to be the one who freezes these moments for my sister and her family, and that is something I’ll never take for granted. Watching my nephews grow through my camera lens is such a gift.

But if I’m honest, it’s also bittersweet.

Living so far away means I miss so many ordinary moments—the laughs, the milestones, the hugs, the little pieces of their lives that happen in between our visits. I only get to see them once a year, and every goodbye feels like I’m leaving behind a year’s worth of memories I wish I could be part of.

So when we’re together, I hold onto these moments a little tighter. I photograph them not just because it’s what I do, but because these images become part of the memories I get to take home with me.

Distance makes the time together even more precious. 🤍
