Hey everyone I have an exciting announcement!

I have joined up with some amazing businesses in our community to help raise funds to help Critteraid! *REAL TALK*
Where to even begin. In 2021 I was diagnosed with adhd, anxiety and CPSTD. It was a relief when I finally had a name to go with the shadows that have followed me my whole life.

And some may ask “WhY aRe YoU tAkInG pIcTuReS oF yOuRsElF cRyInG?”

Because I want to show that is is the reality for alot of people. A lot of women, moms, entrepreneurs, artists, etc. I feel it is not talked about enough.

I am trying to be open and vulnerable with my struggles so that others out there who have the same struggles don’t feel alone or unseen.

I SEE YOU.

Days like today feel the loneliest and most overwhelming. It feels like every little or big stress, bad feeling, experience, fear and trauma comes crashing down on you.

I call it the everything everywhere all at once effect.

It’s like being crushed by a bulldozer. You can’t breathe, can’t think, can’t function. Then comes the depression. You relive all the things that happened to you that was out of your control, terrible things said to you, mistakes you made, where you want to go but feel like you aren’t good enough to get there. You think about all the productive things you SHOULD be doing right now but can’t because you are literally paralyzed with overwhelm that no matter how hard you try, you just… can’t.

You can read all the books, exercise, listen to the podcasts, take all the supplements and meditate, but these days are still going to and will happen.

Right now I am in a period of another self transformation or “reinvention”. Today I had to remind myself that this will be painful. That days like these do not measure my worth.

You are not worthless, lazy, bad mom or whatever s**t you say to yourself.

It’s one day at a time and when it lands on “one of these days”, you need to give yourself space. Ask questions and turn inward. Be curious about the things going on inside and take it as an opportunity to get to know yourself more, give yourself the same love and kindness you give to others.

I’m not an expert, I don’t have all the answers. I’m just one woman who is showing up and giving love to other women who are struggling too.

I’m here for you cause being a human is hard but we got this.

I received a DM yesterday. To say the least it me aback and I had to let myself calm down before I could respond.

The message read:
“Hey Jana. I recently found page. A friend of mine who follows you suggested I do too. I have been having issues with accepting my body. When I went to look at your page, I see you shoot women other than just plus size or curvy. I wanted you to know how extremely upsetting this is for me. I see you do shoot curvier ladies and I think that’s great but it angers me that you shoot smaller sized women as well, and women with fake breasts, etc. Women who are not plus size do not need anymore validation that they are pretty. They already have a leg up in life. I would have loved to shoot with you but I find it hypocritical that you talk about self love and confidence but yet choose to also shoot women who are straight sized. Women like me won’t feel comfortable with having a shoot done and not feel like they aren’t as good as the other women you shoot.” 🤯

First, I can understand why someone might feel self conscious when seeing women or another person of “smaller” body type. It took me a long time to not feel jealous or less than when I was around women smaller than me. I had to find self love and self acceptance.

Second, I shoot ALL women because ALL women deserve to feel beautiful, confident and empowered. Women from all walks of life, culture, age, and body type are accepted in my studio.

What I do is capture the beauty of who is in front of me in a way that celebrates them, in a way that helps them see themselves as art.

It does not matter to me if a client is a size 2 or 22. Natural breasts or not. Piercings, tattoos or all natural.

In my eyes they are all beautiful and deserve to feel empowered in their body and in who they are.

Just because someone is seen as “beautiful” or societies vision of beauty, doesn’t mean they don’t deserve to feel good about themselves regardless.

Finally, you don’t know what someone is going through. Even when someone presents themselves in a certain way, certainly doesn’t mean that’s how they feel.

All women are worthy. All women deserve to feel beautiful and powerful. ✨

This babe rocked her third session with me in the new studio. Our first one session together was 10 years ago! I absolutely love and adore my clients who have grown with me over the years.

Cannot wait for more shoots in the new studio this summer because the light in there is giving GODDESS!
