Commissioned by .ca this shirt was built as the official visual for the Canmore Quad—a freeform, four-peak endurance challenge that’s become a cult fixture in the Bow Valley trail community.

The creative ask wasn’t for just another event tee—it was to design something that felt like the race: brutal, beautiful, and entirely self-governed.

Something that reflected the unique character of RunUphill as a brand—raw, technical, community-driven—and translated the complexity of the day into a single, wearable form.

A visual reduction of vertical punishment—four peaks, four vectorized silhouettes, vertically stacked to mirror the mental load of the route itself.

Each mountain from top down—Ha Ling, Grotto, EEOR, and Lady Mac—was redrawn from topographic data, then flattened into a single-plane elevation profile.

The composition leverages symmetry not for aesthetic comfort, but to simulate psychological contrast: the illusion of balance in an otherwise disorienting day.

Colour was treated functionally—separate chromatic weights assigned to each peak to represent distinct phases of exertion. A psychological gradient—shifting from composure to friction, through disorientation, and finally into conviction. Each tone calibrated to capture the internal transitions that happen over 50+ kilometers of voluntary suffering.

Typography is set in a monospaced system font for pure utility. Coordinates, elevation gain, and prominence operate as a stripped-down legend—a nod to analog mapping and analog endurance.

Form follows fatigue.

Some folks chase things. Some run from ‘em. Others just keep moving.

The wind doesn’t ask any questions. The sun burns, the dust stings, and the horizon just keeps pulling. No map, no reason — just the hum beneath of a machine grasping at something faster than silence.

Spring’s close now. Mindless of the rain. You can smell it on the wind. Eyes up — motorcycles are coming.

Thats a wrap folks! Today marks my last day with after two years of creativity, adventure, and collaboration. Walking away from a company that aligns so closely with my passions isn’t easy, but I’m incredibly grateful for the experiences, the friendships, and the countless lessons along the way.

From early morning trail runs to conversations about gear that turns into stories of adventure, MEC has been more than just a workplace—it’s been a community. I’ve had the chance to work alongside some of the most passionate, hard working and knowledgeable people in the industry.

From designing visuals that reinforce MEC’s brand identity to capturing the spirit of adventure through my lens, every project has been an opportunity to bring the essence of the brand to life. I’m grateful to have contributed to shaping how MEC is seen, while doing exactly what I set out to do—inspire people to get outside.

To my teammates, mentors, and everyone I’ve had the chance to create with—thank you. I’ll see you in the mountains.

A very campaign for

In search of the perfect pairing of socks and sandals, myself and stomped around Alice Lake dreaming up just where or where they could be.

It was such a freakin’ blast shooting this Wes Anderson inspired Father’s Day campaign for MEC. This was a tight crew on a time crunch and everyone kept the vibes uber high.

Thank you to everyone on set for waiting patiently for me to hobble around Alice Lake on a broken ankle - it was definitely worth it.

Excerpts from my journal:

A quote I think about often is, “Be as you wish to seem.”
Is the overarching concept of this manner to grasp the external? Do I wish to seem a certain way for somebody else? Or is this ideation from within my own internal dialogue?

I struggle a lot with my understanding of social media. How the facade of perfect can be camouflaged by the notion of new connections, new places and new ideas. There is inspiration within this machine - this technological madness. But it’s in our own unique perspectives. This is a tool - minus the vice.

I’ve come to realize how much love, kinship and adventure there is out there because of this black hole of algorithms. A learning to drop the envy and the jealously. To hang our green masks up when we walk in and embrace that everyone’s got their own taste. Everyone goes their own speed. And everyone has the power to create and connect. It’s all about fun, and f**ken getting lost and finding yourself in this life.

So keep riding. Tomorrow comes into us at midnight.

It has nothing to do with gear or footwear or the backpacking fads or philosophies of any particular era or even with getting from point A to point B.
It has everything to do with how it felt to be in the wild.
