Had the pleasure once again of doing product photos for .magic.creations but the first time knowing that it was heading to a national scale with their exciting launch of their line of pins through . The whole line is beautiful, but I am definitely partial to the capybaras because they're just so darn cute.

Had a blast at the Showcase tonight getting those final preparations in for Comp Season! While I loved all the dances, discovering that the big Team Dance is a Hannah Montana medley was definitely my favourite moment!

Long time since my last post but January into February is always a blur as a teacher (if you know, you know). The beautiful nearly spring-like weather meant it was a great day to visit the nearby and finally get a decent photo of the Golden Pheasant who can be pretty darn elusive for such a pretty guy. He seemed to be strutting his stuff for the females today though....

I've never actually tried to shoot the Northern Lights as it seems to always either be raining or peaking at 2am on a school day, so tonight I tried a very brief (it was so so cold) unofficial visit to somewhere I take lots of photos (some of you may recognise the spot I kinda snuck to...) for a few mins. Definitely need to figure out best settings but this one was using my RF 35mm at f1.8 for 10 seconds on a tripod. Definitely hard to shoot in basically pitch black when you can't feel your hands but I'm at least somewhat happy with the results.

Today's highlight was watching the Silver Fox trying to figure out a way to get to the squirrel that made the mistake of getting into the trees above the fox enclosure. She was very engaged in following the prey even if the squirrel did eventually figure out how to get back to safer branches. Also the red fox joined in at the end. They are so pretty!
