Probably my favourite architectural shoot done for a client. This rustic home had just been put on the market, as she was relocating east of the city and wanted a "portrait" done of the house to remember it by.
I proposed shooting at dusk and lighting the house with small flash. I took 2 exposures using ambient light and 3 small flashes with gels mounted on them.
My tripod was mounted in the bed of their pickup truck, to get it to the ideal elevation. After some location and timing finalizing, I had the image I needed.
A bit of work with the post production and it was a complete project.
I handed her a large, gorgeous print for her to frame.
To say she was thrilled is an understatement. Even her real estate agent was fully impressed.
This project was one of sentimental importance, not monetary and I was very happy to take it on for Laura.

How do you like your portraits? I like them DARK. are my go-to style especially if they drive emotion and mystery.

Taking the time to play in the pursuit of making something meaningful is never a waste of time.

I’ve almost always found the time to be well spent.

Lately, I’ve been edging more towards photographing those who have the desire and ability to express emotions for a collaborative production.

Singers, actors, writers. Those who know how to become a character. That’s who I need to work with.

What will the year provide for me?

Looking back at a portrait I did that was inspired by a Movie Poster of Keanu Reeves. This is amateur actor, Shawn Lovblom.

He came in to my tiny studio space wearing a perfect, black suit.

Imagine that you are inside a building with a glass door at the entrance. It's a dark, rainy evening. Suddenly, this dude in black comes up to the door and glances inside. This is what you see.

I am looking forward to doing more images inspired by "movie posters".

A sample of my "mulitiplicity" portraits. This one is of Kyle who plays each instrument and sings on his albums. I asked him to change clothes for each instrument.

The result is amazing. NO AI involved. Just experimentation, practice and skills to get my vision down.
