Mike Taylor Photo Arts Commercial Photographer Serving The Visual Needs of A Variety of Businesses I've always been a fan of art in many forms.

Picked up a 110 format camera at age 16, the 35mm shortly thereafter. A cyclist since a kid, I've ridden all over sw Ontario for fun and adventure. Still a bit of a cyclist, and always a photographer, I've learned through my job to enjoy tasty treats such as scotch and dark chocolate, red wine and tasty treats.

How do you like your portraits? I like them DARK. are my go-to style especially if they drive emotion and mystery.

Taking the time to play in the pursuit of making something meaningful is never a waste of time.

I’ve almost always found the time to be well spent.

Lately, I’ve been edging more towards photographing those who have the desire and ability to express emotions for a collaborative production.

Singers, actors, writers. Those who know how to become a character. That’s who I need to work with.

Looking back at a portrait I did that was inspired by a Movie Poster of Keanu Reeves. This is amateur actor, Shawn Lovblom.

He came in to my tiny studio space wearing a perfect, black suit.

Imagine that you are inside a building with a glass door at the entrance. It's a dark, rainy evening. Suddenly, this dude in black comes up to the door and glances inside. This is what you see.

Bill voluntarily posed for me as a test subject, before Covid made the entire planet crazy. I immediately found his mature visage appealing. is a troublesome form of as it demands that the collaboration between sitter, photographer and viewer be in sync.

Without this synchronization the image simply fails.

Since my stepping away from photography for about one year now, I have had the opportunity to refresh my creative neurons.

I once again feel the drive to put the viewfinder to my eye.

Making images that can only come from my mind, my imagination and drive, are surely on the horizon once again.

The beginning can only occur with the inspiration I achieve when the next obvious volunteer comes along.

It may take another face like Bill’s. Stay tuned.
