Good morning! The kids are off to school and I am finally starting to get into grove again. Please be patient with emails and edits as I have experienced a major lose of a computer and hard drive (no image lose).
Like many small businesses I have had to reassess and have had to make a few small changes including a small increase across the board with services.
Also the website site is down and under debate if it should be kept.
Finally delivery of images... I have always given a physical item but with technology going the way it is, digital downloads seem to be the weay everything is going. Would as customer prefer a USB or download?

Once again The Professional Photographer of Canada has published a list of services that are NOT allowed at this current at this time.

I highly recommend that everyone check with their local Public Health Unit regarding restrictions in your area. Northern Ontario may be under different restrictions than Southern Ontario, for example.

There have been a lot of questions in the industry surrounding Ontario's current restrictions as it relates to photography. In a nutshell, commercial and industrial photography is permitted, however, retail photography is not, regardless if it’s indoors or outdoors.

When questioning what is retail and what is commercial photography, it breaks down to the image use. If it's for your client's advertising purposes, it's commercial. If it's for your client's personal use, it's retail. https://thelawtog.com/commercial-versus-portrait-photography/

We have been issued stay-at-home orders, just like in the spring. Being six feet or more away from your subject does not make it ok to break the law. The government has said they will be issuing fines. Case numbers are way higher now than they were last spring. Help stop the spread.

*** Over the past few weeks I have been struggling with what to do and how to reopen KLP. As many of you know I am meticulous with the details of my shots and because of this I will not be taking on any maternity sessions. I absolutely will not compromise the quality of my work because I can not rearrange a dress, hand, ring, necklace or whatever because of social distancing and no sometimes instructions are simply just not enough. That attention to detail is exactly what makes my sessions “mine” and I will not shoot a session just for the sake of being able to do so and provide an image that does not have my standards. If you have been in a session with me you will completely understand this.
I will also not be taking on any newborns yet. As many of you know I am a full time paramedic for the county and there is still the potential that I get exposed. Due to the extremely close and prolonged contact of a newborn sessions, I am ABSOLUTELY not willing to take the risk to potential expose your precious newborn.
I have started to shoot a few cake smash sessions for prior customers as these can be preformed with no contact from me but will be doing prior customers only at this time.
I will be re-evaluating the situation in September, fingers crossed that things will be a little more “normal” by then.

Today it was released that SOME parts of the province are moving into phase 2 of opening. Lambton County is NOT part of that phase 2 yet, as we are among some of the highest outbreak number per population. Please be patient we will be there very soon!
