This old barn north of Darlingford instantly takes me back. It reminds me of a time when barns were the heart of every farm and childhood adventures often began in the hayloft. With fewer of these prairie icons standing today, I’d love to hear your favourite old barn memory.

A little outside my usual Currie Country territory, but well worth the early morning drive. My son-in-law Mike Partridge, owner of Sunrise Pumpers in Brandon, was near Cartwright Wednesday morning pumping concrete for a massive 100-by-300-foot chicken barn slab.
They were using one of four pumpers in his arsenal, affectionately named "Frank the Tank", with a boom reaching up to 130 feet. The finished slab will take close to 600 yards of concrete—now that’s a whole lot of mud before breakfast. Sunrise Pumpers Sunrise Concrete Pumping

Everybody loves a parade—or better yet, being part of one! Make plans to watch, join in and celebrate as Clearwater marks 150 years of community, memories and hometown pride. Clearwater, Manitoba celebrates 150 years

Our parade route!

August 15th @ 11am

Parade will start Hall (or just outside of town)
head down boundary trail,
turn at 11th street,
turn again at king street,
turn again onto 12th street and back to boundary!
From there they will head into car show if they are part of it, or head to parking lot until parade is done!

There is still time to enter your classic car/ truck, farm equipment or horses!

It’s been a while since I’ve introduced myself, and with some new followers thought it was time!

Hi, I’m Kristina.

I’m the owner of Clearwater Country Market, a Red Seal Chef, a wife, and a mom of three. Fifteen years ago, I took a leap of faith and bought this little business, and it has become such a big part of my life.

If you’ve ever stopped by, you’ve probably seen me in the kitchen, behind the counter, catering, or running from one job to the next. Small business ownership means wearing a lot of hats, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Cooking has always been my way of caring for people. I love bringing families together over a homemade meal, being part of weddings, anniversaries, reunions, and community events, and knowing that the food i serve becomes part of someone’s memories.

Running a small business isn’t always easy. There are long days, early mornings, and plenty of challenges behind the scenes. But it’s also incredibly rewarding, and I’m so thankful for the customers, friends, and community who have supported me over the years.

Thank you for being here, for supporting local, and for allowing me to do what I love. I’m looking forward to many more years of serving this amazing community.

Well, it was a hot one—but what a beautiful day for Luke and Janelle Van Damme's wedding in Notre Dame. Surrounded by generations of family and friends, they said “I do” in Janelle’s grandparents’ yard, making the day even more special.
Tracey and I were honoured to capture it all from the ground and the air.
Wishing you both a lifetime of happiness—and never stop feeling for each other the way you did on this day. ❤️

The boys of summer are taking over Crystal City this weekend for the 13U Tier 2 Provincial Baseball Championship!
The diamonds are ready, the town is buzzing, and teams from across Manitoba are coming to play ball.
We’re especially excited to have the Brandon Pirates calling the Currie Country Barn Loft home for the weekend.
Good luck to all the players, coaches and families—here’s to big hits, great plays and a fantastic weekend of baseball!
