Summer photo sessions with little ones and big personalities are some of my favourites.

Kids do not need to arrive ready to perform. They can be shy. They can be silly. They can run, cuddle, ask questions, make faces, need a break, or warm up slowly. All of that is part of photographing children in a way that feels real.

The best images often come when kids are simply allowed to be themselves, with gentle direction and enough space for their personality to come through.

Because one day, you will want to remember more than what they looked like. You will want to remember the way they moved through the world at this age.
