My surgery went as well as it could, and recovery has been slow but good. 🌼

Looking back on this sweet family session right before my downtime has me feeling extra grateful that I get to do what I do. These are the moments I love capturing most. The real laughs, the chaos, the connection.

I won’t ask you to stand there and smile perfectly, but I will ask you to be yourselves and have fun 🤍

A gentle reminder that you never really know what someone is carrying behind the scenes. 🫶🏻

I’m currently on call for a major surgery and, due to the uncertainty around timing and recovery, I’m not taking on bookings for large events this summer season.

The sessions I am able to take are limited and typically booked within about a week’s notice, as that’s the timeline I’m working with right now.

This wasn’t an easy decision, but I want to make sure I’m not committing to anything I may not be able to fully show up for.

A while back, I had the chance to photograph a session with Jackie, a founder at MERS for the Canadian Wildlife Federation, highlighting the incredible work behind the Marine Education and Research Society. 🐳

Meeting Jackie and capturing her in her element was something special. Watching someone use a camera not just to create, but to identify, protect, and advocate for marine life… it hits differently when you’re a Sony shooter yourself.

Empowering minds. Protecting marine life.

MERS continues to foster understanding and conservation through research, education, and marine wildlife response, all while working within the territories of the Kwakwa̱ka̱’wakw Peoples, whose stewardship of these waters runs deep.

This marks my second publication with CWF, and it honestly never gets old. Getting to work alongside organizations that care deeply about wildlife and its preservation is exactly why I do what I do.
