Karla has been working in the photography industry since 2001. She is a graduate from Langara College in the Professional Photography Imaging Program. Karla was trained as a commercial photographer but quickly learnt that her heart lies in photographing old Hollywood glamour.

Outside of photography she flamenco dances, travels, gardens, hikes and is busy being a Mom of two awesome boys.

I enter in an international annual photography competition every year. Every year I enter the maximum amount of photos (50) and every year I am happy with my placement. I even came 10th one year with over 500 000 photos in the competition.

This year I only entered 1/2 the amount of photos (25). I have been shooting content that you would not normally enter in a competition. I have been shooting less personal shoots. I had zero expectations but yet I still entered. There are 12 rounds and currently the voting is on round 10. I am still in it. I have no idea what photo or photos. I’m surprised-I’m happy. The photos are unanimous and so are the votes. If you need photo inspiration the site is:
