Occasionally life offers us a magnificent gift that would be easy to overlook in the busyness of our lives.
We were just sitting down before supper to catch up on our day ... and catch our breath... (me after a 2km swim, bike, run, tenants, groceries) when the 'house in town's' doorbell rang.
The camera showed a woman with 3 girls. who were beautifully dressed in matching outfits, hair painstakingly done! When asked how I could help, one of the children said excitedly, "We came for the pictures".
After apologetically explaining to the mom that sessions had to booked ahead of time, and the studio was also closed for the season they walked dejectedly back to their vehicle. Impulsively I yelled into the app, hoping she could hear me... that we would be there in 30 minutes... if we could do the photos outdoors. The temperature hovered around 2C and sunset was an hour away.
We threw our camera gear along with a bench and blanket into the car, and, upon arrival in town, began shoveling a path through the snow and slush to the trail along the river, using a doormat to bridge the area where cold water had settled.
The little girls, bare footed in sandals, light dresses were ever so brave! They listened ...and posed and smiled as the last of the April light graced our session.
So grateful for unexpected moments ... and my ever consistent partner who backs me up without question or hesitation! 💜💜💜💙
