The hooded crow (Corvus cornix), also called the hoodie, is a Eurasian bird found across Northern, Eastern, and Southeastern Europe, as well as parts of the Middle East. It has a distinctive ashy grey body with black head, wings, and tail. An omnivorous scavenger, it feeds on carrion, small animals, and eggs. Four subspecies are recognized, differing slightly in plumage and range. The hooded crow builds bulky stick nests in trees, cliffs, or buildings, with eggs incubated primarily by the female. It has a lifespan of up to 16 years. While protected in some regions, it is often targeted by farmers and gamekeepers. It also serves as a secondary host for the parasitic great spotted cuckoo.

📸 Capturing these moments reminds us that beauty is often found in the quiet, fleeting seconds of everyday life.
