Almost 10 years ago, in June of 2013, I photographed my very first wedding. It was in a small little village in Vermont out in the middle of nowhere on a family compound and it was magical (even if my work wasn’t yet… 🤦🏼♀️😆)
I then began second shooting for a few photographers after that but really wanted to build my own wedding clientele, and thought - what better way to do that than through social media?! So in early 2015 I did a wedding photography giveaway contest, which led me to photograph weddings for a long string of Vermont couples over the following 4 years before I decided to stop taking new wedding clients in 2019.
I always thought it was so funny, how a girl from CT, who then lived in NYC and moved to QC somehow ended up being a VT wedding photographer. 🤷🏼♀️ But I am so incredibly grateful for those years, those weddings, those beautiful relationships built with some of the sweetest people I know in what grew to be one of my favourite places on earth. 🌲💚
I first met John and Veronica here in Québec City in March 2019 when I photographed their engagement session in and around Old Québec. I could tell right away that they were my kind of people, so much fun and so kind and generous.
Their wedding followed in Vermont that summer, and it was just the best. Laughter, crazy friend shenanigans, so much dancing, lots of tears - all of the good stuff that makes a wedding ✨
During COVID in the late fall of 2020, my girls and I took a little road trip up to see them in their new home in New Hampshire and to meet their first born son - Walter. And just this past Saturday, the girls and I made a pit-stop on our way back home from CT to visit the Cooney Clan once again, this time to meet and document their newest member; McLean. 🤍
I couldn’t have asked for a better first session to kick off my 2023 - revisiting these wonderful people and having the privilege to capture their family as it grows. Thank you both, Veronica and John, from the bottom of my heart, for continuing to have me do this for you. It is, and will always be, a pleasure and gift 🙏🏼
