I've had a 2 month old rushed by ambulance to the Stollery. This hits close to home. The Alberta's NDP pushed for an emergency debate on Children's Healthcare- but the self-serving UCP couldn't be bothered. Sovereignty trumped the very health of OUR Children.

'Other potential staffing measures could include mandatory overtime, short notice schedule changes, and in some cases, cancellation of staff vacations, if shifts cannot be filled.'

HOME
It's not a place, it's a feeling. And more than anything, I hope I can make people feel " At Home ", when I take their pictures. It's that level of comfort, and honesty with people, that leads to pure and real moments being captured. And I am just as grateful, when clients make me feel at home. Right off the bat, I knew I was with the right folks....
A Dad that is just as witty ( and smart a**ed as the photographer ).
A Little Brother who assured me that he doesn't like getting his picture taken ( But it didn't take long before he was staring right into the camera, because I asked him to watch the camera for me so the wind didn't blow the lens off. And he was such a perfect helper )
A Mom who is such a ray of light and a beautiful person.
And a Super Hero

I had something extra, to be Thankful for, this Thanksgiving weekend. I got to spend some time with this beautiful family, on Saturday afternoon.
I am grateful, to have the opportunity to capture special moments and memories, for all my clients. But it is a privilege, when you get to take picures for the same family, a second, and third time. When these awesome folks arrived for their session this weekend, the girls came running down the hill, all smiles, and immediately told me what grades they were in, and one proudly showed off her new braces !! I have loved "watching" these delightful little ladies grow up, with our annual visits. It is always a joy to spend time with this family. And as they had extended family visiting from BC, join us for pictures this year, it was even more special

Of course I love taking pictures of this crew. It was a beautiful afternoon, out at Fort Normandeau, before the snow started to fly. But I'm just as excited about taking pictures, now that the crisp, white, winter beauty has arrived

I really need to thank this MOST wonderful, amazing, and patient family !! I took pictures for them, two weeks ago, and was finally able to deliver their pictures to them, a few days ago. While I usually put in a full day of editing, right after I take pictures, and have pictures back to my awesome families within a couple days, life has been a touch crazy lately, with this whole Election thing !
I had the absolute pleasure of taking pictures for these folks, a year ago, and I LOVED every minute of it !! These girls, are such a joy. And when they asked me if I would take pictures again, this year, it meant the world to me. For me, capturing someone's memories, is a pretty big honor. And to know, that they trusted me enough, to do it again, is pretty special. I'm certainly, a lucky girl !
It was such a beautiful day, for taking pictures, and it was great to visit with this special family again. I tried to only pick a few of my favourites, from the session.... but it was very hard. In the end, these are still only a "few" of my favourites, as I probably could have shared 100 with you !

OKAY, this is the last, I swear. I needed to share my favourite picture from yesterday. Quite often when I do a session, my favourite picture ends up being a picture that isn't "perfect". I'm not a big fan of overly posed pictures. I much prefer candid shots, especially when people don't even realize that you're taking their picture- it's in these moments, that you can capture true emotion. And as I looked over in the distance yesterday, and saw this "moment" unfolding, I scrambled to try to get a shot. A beautiful, strong mother, and her sweet boy ( who I'm pretty sure, has a big piece of her heart )
