Random Eyesight Studio Regina/Swift Current Portrait and Wedding Photographer I had to pick one place as my address and since my bed is in Regina - that is where I picked.

However, I would say my base is either Swift Current, SK or Regina, SK. I am a prairie girl to my core though I do often fall in love with the ocean. I will travel anywhere. But no travel fees involved if going to Swift Current from Regina is the plus side there. Why pick me over anyone else? I would say because I like tailoring a session for a client.... if you are shy we can work with that. If y

ou want to do something wild and crazy like jump into a pool fully dressed that is great too. I like to mix it up, I like country and I like urban. There is little in life that I don't find interesting. And most of all I like to make interesting pretty photos of real life. I hope to hear from you :)

Still working my way through Iceland images. Still trying to find words to describe this trip and what Iceland means to me.

On this particular night, it was the battle of the clouds. Which was every night to be honest. But we found a little clear slot. Then that waiting. And waiting. Faint green bands (nothing exciting IMO). Then I saw a pillar, and was this it? In 5 minutes it went faint green bands to dancing in colour overhead. I had one camera just point straight up because the corona was in the top 3 I’ve ever seen for brightness.

I miss this little Island with my soul.

Iceland has stolen my heart.

If I could figure out a way to have my employer be okay with me living outside the province….. not gonna lie - I would be looking up how to move here so fast.

The spring like weather is kicking in the SDS (Storm Deprivation Syndrome). Longing to be a field with a ball of water vapour sculpted into a pretty supercell.

If it would throw in some 🌪️ or ⚡️, I wouldn’t be bothered.

I recently spent time in the Banff/Jasper area. The weather didn’t super cooperate for the original reason I went (frozen lake bubbles) but still beautiful scenery. And a lot of time with no cell service. Which lead to wandering and thinking inside a snow globe.

I struggled with how do I put into words about the US situation because I have a lot of big feelings about it - rage, horror and a deep sadness.

Renee Goode and Alex Pretti were eliminated by their government. That anyone defends that and believes the outright lies that were told absolutely horrifies me.

Yes it’s not in “my” country. But there is a group here that would welcome the current American regime here and if we don’t start speaking up and voting it’s not inconceivable what’s happening there, will happen here.

And one day, in the history books I want it known that I oppose fascism. I oppose a government terrorizing its people.

Will this lose me followers - probably. Will I continue to get some angry messages - likely. But I can not and will not be silent and be complicit..

This is no longer Conservative vs Liberal, Right vs Left. This is about human lives and freedom.

We can disagree on religion, about how the government should budget, about pineapple on pizza (yes please - always!), are the mountains better than the prairies (nope I ♥️ my prairies!! But the mountains are pretty), about where to travel to and if ice cream as a meal is acceptable (absolutely).

If you agree that a government has the right to eliminate and terrorize their citizens, then boldly lie about it, then there is little to discuss because this isn’t an agree to disagree type of thing.

However you are spending the holiday season - I hope there is something that brings you joy.

Whether that is watching a familiar tv show or movie, visiting with family or friends that are your chosen family, maybe it’s a cuddle with a furry pet, or maybe it’s a walk in the frosty cold enjoying the scenery or mastering something you have wanted to bake or lighting a candle and reading a book.

Happy Winter Solstice.

I’m a weirdo that actually enjoys the short daylight. I’m sure I would get tired of it was year round but the time when the daylight is short just never seems long enough to me in the winter.

If you want to know what living with a mental health disorder is like —> listen to Fear by NF.

Better yet go watch the music video.

Sure lots of songs about mental health but I swear that if someone asked me to describe living daily with depression - I’m just going to say go listen to this song.

PS. He is an excellent lyricist. An older song that I’m even hesitant to name because it hits my core so deeply —> Let You Down. Really listen or read those lyrics. Still can cause me to get teary eyed and I’ve listened to it for years.

Anyway the point being if you have some life struggles and need some music therapy - I highly recommend listening to this artist (his older albums are good but this new EP just hits in all the right places)

Some green lights for the Eiders Grey Cup win!

(TBH I’m not much of a sports person but it’s my home province and it’s pretty cool they won. Downtown is alive atm with the partying)

A few new faces around so here’s some random info about me:
1. I am vision impaired - which means I don’t drive. I forget that people don’t know that about me.
2. Obviously a lover of weather - whether severe supercell thunderstorms, space weather that causes aurora or winter blizzards. If it’s weather and it’s storm related - I love it
3. I don’t like coffee but an ice cold Coca-cola hits the spot every time.
4. I am a RN (25 years!) - everything from NICU, general med/surgery, Emergency, medical transport, adult ICU, bed management and currently as a specialist on patient movement in and out of the province (PSA get the travel insurance always even if not leaving Canada)
5. Myer-Briggs personality typing I’m a solid INTJ, enneagram 5w4. So that means I’m always curious and very science driven on many of my
life views. I’m an introvert - but get me talking about photography or weather than maybe not 😂(or political soapbox - but I try to avoid those).
6. I will travel anywhere. My favourite so far has been Thailand but Iceland is on the docket this spring so it might usurped. I also usually travel solo but don’t mind going with the right group.
7. I have no kids of adult or pets. Human kids - due to personal reasons - and I don’t regret my decision. Furry children because I’m wildly allergic or I would probably have 20 cats (am I kidding???? Maybe, maybe not 😂)
8. I love the prairies. I know a lot of people prefer mountains or forests and I love visiting those but I’m a prairie girl to my core.
9. However if the opportunity came up to live by the ocean - I wouldn’t turn it down.
10. Related to the number 1 fact - my biggest frustration is not driving. It causes so many limitations and restrictions. So I’m always up for road trips.

10 random facts - anything else you would like to know?

Two things:
1. Being a non driver is challenging as a weather lover. For the northern lights, if one of my SOS texts aren’t answered (and I thank each and everyone of you that put up with my texts of soooooo going out? And can I come????) I’m stuck in the city. The light in the city makes the northern lights 10x more challenging to see for my already crappy eyesight: On November 11, I think I found a spot. It’s a bit of a cab ride, but min light pollution, scenic and best yet no one around. I had been using Wascana but after a couple of close calls of being followed or threatened it’s not great, plus still a lot of light pollution. So was thrilled to find this place and added it to my spots.
2. There’s been a lot of bashing of the new Taylor Swift album. The first listen I was like I don’t know if I like this. But now - I love it. I think it took a bit to go from the deep rawness of TTPD. The depression was had basically receded for the last year, has come back with a vengeance. And this album makes me smile and dance and sing.
