Most people in Saskatchewan hear the STARS helicopter and think “wow.”

The crews inside hear stress, pressure and another family having the worst day of their life.

Advanced care paramedics trying to keep somebody alive in the back of a flying tin can bouncing through prairie weather.

Flight nurses making critical decisions at 2 in the morning running on experience, adrenaline and caffeine.

Pilots flying in conditions most people wouldn’t even drive in while carrying a crew focused on saving a life before time runs out.

People love calling them heroes. Fair enough.
But behind all that are human beings carrying some pretty heavy mental baggage home after shift.

The public sees the helicopter land.
They don’t see the silence afterward.

The replaying calls.
The missed sleep.
The dark humour.
The emotional shutdown some days just trying to reset enough to do it all over again tomorrow.

That aircraft doesn’t just carry patients across Saskatchewan.
It carries the weight of the people inside it too. Thanks doesn’t seem enough.

Spring league isn’t just about football.
It’s kids building confidence.
Learning adversity.
Learning teamwork.
Learning how to get knocked down… then line back up anyway.

And honestly?
In a world glued to phones and TikTok attention spans, seeing young athletes grind in the heat, rain and wind is pretty damn refreshing.

So support the kids.
Support the coaches.
Support the trainers taping ankles at 8pm while everyone else is heading home.

Because these are the moments they’ll remember long after the scoreboard is forgotten.

RMF Spring League football is hard hitting and every once in a while, art shows up, I guess that's how I look at it.

One split second.
One athlete fully committed.
One frame that almost doesn’t look real.

That’s what I love about shooting football.

Football is in the blood.
That’s why I capture it.

People see a game.
I see moments most eyes miss completely.

The jump.
The focus.
The sacrifice.
The kid giving everything for a ball under a Saskatchewan sky.

That’s art in action.

And trust me…
capturing it isn’t as easy as it looks when you’re standing on the sideline getting blinded by the sun while your camera questions your life choices.

But these moments matter.

Absolute beauty of an evening at RMF Spring League tonight.
Bright sun. Harsh shadows. Players moving a hundred miles an hour.

Honestly… tough enough trying to shoot it.
I can’t imagine trying to follow the game from the stands squinting into that sunlight all night.

But somehow the kids still brought it.
Big plays. Big energy. Full effort every snap.

That’s the thing about football in Saskatchewan.
Doesn’t matter if it’s blazing sun, sideways rain or a wind trying to relocate your lawn furniture… the games go on.
