Let’s Create Something Special of Your Pet and Family-LINK BELOW TO BOOK MAY 22-24th
Celebrate Spring with the Ones Who Love You Most (Yes, the Furry Ones!)

Due to the size of the background, only allow a family for four and/or pets.

Spring is the perfect time to capture the joy, personality, and unconditional love your pets bring into your life. Whether it’s your dog’s goofy grin, your cat’s quiet snuggles, these moments deserve to be remembered.

My Spring Pet Portrait Sessions are designed to be relaxed, fun, and full of genuine connection. We’ll play, laugh, and create images that feel like you — the kind you’ll treasure long after the muddy paws and fur-covered clothes are gone.

Spots are limited and the blossoms won’t last forever, so if you’ve been thinking about photos with your pet, now’s the time.

Book your spring session today and let’s capture the love story between you and your favorite companion.

Graduation is one of life’s biggest milestones, a moment that marks the end of one chapter and the beginning of another. 🎓✨

The final years of high school go by faster than we ever expect. One day it’s first day jitters, football games, friendships, and late-night studying… and suddenly you’re walking across the stage, ready to take on the world.

That’s why graduation portraits matter so much.

These photos become more than just pictures; they become memories frozen in time. A reminder of who you were in this season of life, the dreams you carried, the journey you took, and the people cheering you on along the way.

Years from now, these portraits will bring you back to this exact moment, the excitement, the pride, the emotion, and the feeling of standing on the edge of a brand new beginning.

Celebrate the milestone. Celebrate the memories. Celebrate how far you’ve come. ❤️

Hello,

It’s been a little quiet around here, and I wanted to share why. Over the past few months, I’ve been managing chronic back pain and fatigue. Between physio, massage, and working with my naturopath to tackle sleep issues, I’ve had to slow down and give my body the rest it needed.

Now, as I balance healing and family milestones coming up, my daughter’s graduation and all the celebrations that come with it, vacations in summer, and a few appointments. I want to make things a little more predictable. I’ve been thinking deeply about how to continue creating meaningful work that fits this new season of life.

I’m so excited to introduce Beautiful Spring Studio Portraits, a simple, joyful way to capture the people and pets you love most to start the Spring/summer season. No, this is not the background. I have a newly purchased background, I am ready to share it with you soon. I will be adding other options to these sessions, so at the end of the year, you will have a variety of images to produce an album of your beloved pets.

I have had a lot of inquiries about end-of-life sessions or aging pets. I know there is a strong need to have this done.

Stay tuned for my upcoming Spring Studio Portraits, which will take place at the end of May. This gives me time to organize and promote them. This three-day event will take place in my studio.

Stay tuned- Lisa

Why is a side proile is so important??

A side profile shows a dog’s features in a way a front-facing image can’t. It reveals their structure, their strength, and their softness all at once.

These portraits are about more than what we see. They’re about how the light defines who they are.

If you’ve never had a side profile captured of your pet, it’s a beautiful way to celebrate their unique spirit.

“Let’s talk about framing your subject!! One of the most powerful tools in both photography and art.

When a painter draws a scene, they decide what belongs inside the frame and what’s left out. That choice directs your attention and tells the story. Photography works the same way.

In this portrait of Onyz I took in Moose Jaw, I deliberately positioned him between an opening to create a natural frame. This added dimension and a sense of place. It turns a simple portrait into something that feels layered and intentional.

Framing isn’t just about what you see; it’s about how you feel when you see it. It guides your eye, builds curiosity, and builds interest in the images. The more design elements that go into an image, the better.

Next time you look at a photo or a painting, notice how the artist uses framing to pull you in. It’s one of those quiet details that makes all the difference.”

“Let’s talk about colour harmony in pet portraits for a second. Look at both images.

A lot of people assume a white animal is best on a black background, but it often does the opposite. The contrast can be so strong that it draws your eye away from your pet’s expression, making the image feel harsh rather than elegant.

Creating images is like taking all the elements in art and combining them into art with your camera instead of your paint brush, such as framing, leading lines, rule of thirds and colour harmony. I will go into these further in future posts.

It’s all about harmony, not contrast. The background should complement your pet, not compete with them.

So next time you imagine your pet’s portrait, think beyond ‘what pops’ and instead, think about what feels right for their colour, personality, and the art you want hanging in your home.

When I photograph a white dog on a white background, the tones blend softly, the fur looks luminous, and the focus stays exactly where it should, on your pet’s eyes and personality.

🐾 Tiny Paws, Big Love 🐾Click on the fireplace image to see the full effect.

There’s something magical about those early kitten days. the soft purrs, the clumsy steps, the way they curl up in your hands like they were made to fit there.

We photograph our babies to remember how small they once were, and our pets deserve the same love. Because one day, those tiny paws will grow, and those playful eyes will hold years of memories.

A beautifully framed portrait of your kitten isn’t just a decoration. It’s a daily reminder of joy, warmth, and the love that fills your home. It’s a way to say, “You are part of the family, and you matter.”

Whether displayed in your living room or by your favourite reading chair, these portraits capture the heart of your story, the little life that changed yours.

I can display just an image of my work or I can also display how it could look finished in your home. Granted, everyone has a nice fireplace, but the image still will serve as a focal point and conversation piece. As a remiinder you are still welcome to the files to print yourself. This is nothing like a finished product.

Send me a message to learn more about creating a fine art portrait of your kitten. Let’s capture their tiny wonder before it becomes a memory.

✨ Timeless. Emotional. Unforgettable. ✨

There’s something breathtaking about a black animal against a black background. The way the light catches their eyes, the soft texture of their fur, the quiet strength in their presence. It’s simple, yet powerful, like the love we share with them.

When you walk past a framed portrait of your pet hanging in your home, it’s more than just art. It’s a reminder of loyalty, comfort, and the moments that made your heart full.

These Black Background Fine Art Pet Portraits are designed to capture your pet’s spirit in a way that feels timeless and elegant. Whether displayed as a framed piece or a canvas, each portrait becomes a statement of love, a conversation piece, and a legacy that lasts.

Because one day, these portraits won’t just remind you of how they looked, but how they made you feel.
Yes, the option is still there to purchase your files and display and design how you wish.

Sessions are about preserving the quiet love that fills your home, and the memories you never want to fade.

If you’ve ever looked at your pet and thought, “I wish I could freeze this moment,” this is your chance. Did you just get a kitten, or have a grown cat? All stages are important stages.

I have included some examples. I can help you choose the right display for your home. I have helped people with this because it can be difficult to choose what you will love to display. Do you love the canvas look or the framed with matted, finished look? Of course, you can purchase the files and put them on your computer, hoping one day you will do something with them.

DM me for any stage you would like to preserve your pet in.
