My sister passed away over a month ago. As a photographer I have thousands of photos of her. Some days I feed my pain of loss by looking through all the images, to bring back so many memories... she struggled with her health, her weight, addiction, pain... I see the different stages of her tough journey through this life. I see her beauty clearer today. I look at the life in her eyes. I appreciate her now today more than I did when she was here. I took for granted what I had when she was with us. I didn’t know what a gift she was to everyone, to me... I couldn’t see past her struggle - I had different phases of anger, disappointment, pain and hurt towards her. Because I loved her, I wanted more for her, for me, for all of us. Don’t be like me. See what you have now. Look into the eyes of your loved ones and see the beauty that is within them. Look past the bad choices, and know they are trying their best to figure this life out. Come along side them - love them and hold them. You never know when the last time you will talk, hug or hear their sweet voice. I take comfort in knowing that Liz is no longer struggling, no longer in pain, she has a new and better life in heaven. Thank you Jesus!
