Photos from the Alberta Stock Horse Association April Schooling Show are LIVE on the site!

If you're new here.... These photos are currently UNEDITED in an effort to get them up and available to you as soon as possible. Once ordered, your photos will be colour corrected similar to the image in this post, sharpened, and cropped as needed.

When ordering, there is an option to crop the photo to your liking as well as leave any comments for me if you have special requests. Turn around time is aprox 24-48 hrs unless your order comes through when I am away at an event. If your are in need of a rush, please reach out directly so I am aware.

Who else is getting tired of all the AI they're seeing these days?

The number of businesses and events I've been seeing use AI to build their event posters and promos is so disheartening. The biggest thing I notice with those posters is that they All. Look. The. Same. Originality is gone. I'd rather see people using Canva templates and know they at least threw some effort in.

Don't even get me started on photos... Did you know that using AI on a photographers photographs without their permission is actually Copyright Infringement?

Did you know that using AI to produce images to advertise your product and/or service could actually be hurting your business not helping it? AI is getting easier and easier to spot. And with how repetitive it's starting to look people are valuing real photographs, and real design work made by real people. Oh and real words and sentences as well.

Im not anti AI. I use it for a number of things in my business. But when it comes to things like creative tasks, authentic writing, and awesome imagery, I'll hire a real person thanks.

Not all sale horse photos are actually helping sell your horse.

When you’re looking at ads, what actually matters to you?

– Correct conformation?
– Build?
– Expression and presence?
– Colour?
– Tacked, not tacked, or both?
– Action shots?

Representing a horse properly goes way beyond “a pretty picture”… and getting it wrong can cost you thousands, or the sale entirely.

So I want to hear it from you!

What do you look for when you're looking at sale horse photos? What do you NOT like seeing? Is 1 photo enough or do you need to see more?

I wont be at the Alberta Cutting Horse Association show this weekend, but I WILL be at the Alberta Stock Horse Association show NEXT weekend!

I’ll be covering the event in a freelance format this time around, which means a little more flexibility and some room to get creative. If you’d like to guarantee coverage of your run(s), be sure to reach out ahead of time to get on my list.

I’ll also be running solo for this one—so if you’re hoping for video instead of photo, let me know in advance and I’ll do my best to accommodate.

I’m just getting over a nasty bug, so I’ll be pacing myself a bit—but I’m looking forward to being back in the arena and capturing some great moments and I can't wait to see you all again after a long winter off!

I've been thoroughly enjoying going back through show photos from last year and getting fresh content to some of the associations and stand-alone events I cover. I think I need to make a point to do it a little more often and share a little more of these moments.

Not so much the big, flashy moves, but the quiet moments in between. Some of them speak volumes without a single word being said.

To say that I am happy with how this stud advert turned out is an understatement. really diving in and learning something new has been such a rewarding challenge the last year or so and I am so thankful for amazing clients like Lukacs Performance Horses for trusting me with their stallions Legacy.

Also crazy thankful for my friend Jill over at Gone West Media for all of her help and encouragement. It means the world to have friends support friends especially in similar fields.❤️

To every chronic over-thinker out there....

And I'm here to say, just Do the Damn Thing. Nobody else is going to do it for you.

I'd far rather take a risk and try rather than sit here forever thinking about it.
