Learning all about your story is one of the things I love leading up to your photo session.

This was certainly the case with Kirsten, a skilled dog trainer from the mainland who recently came over with her three adorable pups to be photographed.

I loved learning about each dog, how Kirsten met her Irish fiance Brian and how they're now plotting a transatlantic move with the dogs back to Ireland. I even had the pleasure of documenting Kirsten and Brian's elopement in Victoria! They were truly such a fun crew and gave me full creative license. I wish them the best off luck in their new Irish home with their wonderfully spoiled doggos. 🍀

As Easter approached I putout a rabbit model call for a creative shoot. A few lovely families responded. The bunnies were oh so soft and sweet. They were also a little bit nervous. I learned that if I were to photograph bunnies again the best place to do so would be in their home. A comfortable subject is always best! I also learned from the families that if you're looking for a bunny it’s best to go through a reputable source. A local rescue organization like is a great place to start. Happy Easter, everyone!

A "Before I Go" photo session celebrates your pet before they move on, like this little fire cracker Sampson who had an inoperable tumour. While you might think these sessions are sad, I come away from them feeling so optimistic. It's amazing seeing the impact pets have had on their people and the excellent care they've had throughout their life. 🩷

Can't believe it's been a year since No Bad Dogs exhibit . How rewarding to photograph these pet parents making a difference in the lives of dogs that struggle with reactivity! Each has been through an emotional roller coaster of adopting a dog with behavioural struggles, learning how to build the animal's confidence and how to keep others safe. 👏👏👏 It was doubly rewarding to speak to media and guests about the project. I hope it made a small difference in educating people about dog behaviour and that there are anxious dogs, there are complex dogs but there are truly no bad dogs.
